vimrich
You can use Thulecite or Thulecite Fragments. Anyone know if it's the same total amount either way? That is, it would take 6 Thulecite or 36 Thulecite Fragments in total. I'm wondering if using Fragments is "cheaper" somehow. TeoSS69
It takes 32 fragments instead of 36 so it's cheaper.Although I wouldn't recommend repairing them as you can find a fully repaired one in the ruins. just make sure nothing happens to it. I think the repaired one is going to be all the way on the other side of the labyrinth in that purple biome, and you have to go there every time you want to build something. The broken one I found is a much shorter/safer trip from the rope. It might be worth the 6 thulecite just for the convenience. I'll wait and see. I have 8 thulecite and 30 fragments and I've only mined two statues so far. Misaki
Why can't we just reverse engineer this crap and build it in our base? Misaki
This isn't explanation I seek, those depth worms only make getting to that place worse, sure, I can take one or two, or even four with WX78, but SIX!?We need ability to reverse engineer this station, right now! If not to create ancient things or kill the minotaur, for what else would you go down there? But i agree the worms are ridiculously powerful when in groups. vimrich
Well I just ventured across the labyrinth for the first time and found the "Sacred" biome on the other side (this is supposedly where the already repaired Altar usually is). I was promptly greeted by a Cockwork Rook, which I ran from, then shortly met a bishop who shot at me from a screen away, then I with low health and both in two I ran back into the labyrinth - which triggers the SAME dropping spiders every time because you can't clear out their nests. Out of the corner of my eye, with the Rook charging me into another pathway and three spiders in chase, I caught sight of the Guardian! Yeah, have fun in there dude, see ya. A few Lobsters have found this place, but not crossed into it far enough. I really need them over here more. Then the nightmare phase hit and of course a Nightmarebeak. I was one hit from death - but I made it! After that trip I'm thinking its better to repair the Altar I found already that is way closer. And thank GOD for Abigail - she rocks on spiders - which is key when you have two other mobs in tow. Shoggoth
Fully repaired altar has 40HP, and broken ones initially have 8HP. Each time it is hammered it removes 4HP. Each fragment repairs it for 1HP. Each full thulecite repairs it for 6HP. The fragments aren't more cost efficient than the full thulecite, but the full thulecite will sometimes overheal the altar so the fragments are safer. ETA: The actual HP values could be some multiple of the numbers I gave, but the math would end up the same. Once I clear that whole biome the only thing that might kill me are the shadow creatures and there are many ways to keep away from them. Also you mind find a repaired one near the entrance in another ruin and feel really silly for repairing a previous one. I know I know. I'm holding out right now and going back in with a Lobster army to take out the clockworks. It's the non-clearable spider nests that worry me. Not their attacks, but the webbing might slow me down just enough to take a hit from a shadow on the way back. Here's hoping you find one that isn't close to webs. Although, walking at the edge of the web should keep you safe.
