DLC Idea - Doomsday scenarios

I was watching this show "Doomsday Preppers" on NatGeo Channel and it made me think of DS. After all, DS gets you into that same survivalist mode. A DLC pack could have a "Doomsday" scenario where you have to stock up on food, defenses/weapons, and so on. Then when Doomsday hits, the world goes bad for some extended period of time and you get to see if your "preps" got you through. Doomsday would be like Winter only much worse.

 

Doomsday possibilities 

 

Asteroid Impact

1. Darkness due to dust - no more daytime only dusk 

2. Crops fail - farms, wild grass/twigs/berries/tree no longer grow back

3. Wildfires - wherever the impact occured (maybe even use Lava here if implemented by then?)

 

"Society Collapse"

1. Friendly/neutral mobs now become generally hostile, similar to frog behavior (all mobs try to steal stuff)

2. Mob Raiders - packs of pigs turn into guardians and rove around until they find your base (stampeeds of angry Beefalo?)

3. Gold rocks disappear, gold and gems no longer drop, all valuable drops becomes scarce

 

To go with this would be common "Prepper" items:

- ways to hide food from raiders (hidden chests in ground?)

- ways to extend food preservation (some new science things?)

- alarm traps to warn of raiders

 

And of course, a "Days until Doomsday Clock" somewhere.

I have to agree with Silentdarkness1 and say I wouldn't want this as a DLC, and don't see it being likely. My gripe isn't with the idea itself, I think the unique experience it could provide would give me plenty of entertainment, but it changes the core game itself. Klei's founder, when alluding to the DLC, said that while he wanted it to be something huge that would shock and delight everyone, he wouldn't want it to affect the core game of Don't Starve. Right off the bat people would have Doomsday in the back of their mind, and every action they took would be with the goal of Doomsday preparation in mind. I can't support that being an official part of Don't Starve.
