Is there a way to farm guano?

Or at least get a steady supply?  Theres a stack or two lying around in a new cave, and you can get a few from the batalisks there.  Other than the batalisks that come to the surface at night is there a way to get more?

Nope, Batilisks in caves are finite. The only ones that respawn are those on the surface. Put some Rabbit Hutches there and get going.

They will also spawn from the sink hole down into the ruins from the caves, once it is unplugged.

 

I wonder if you could wall a few in and then put them to sleep and collect the poop?

Oh wait they respawn if outside the cave? Thought they were just the finite ones coming from the caves. Yet more reasons to pen stuff if Guano farming I guess.

Why would you want to farm Guano? It can't be made into farms like beefalo poop and rot can be collected  more easily by putting a full stack of berries in a chest and wait.

Guano is better because it makes plants grow faster. As in if I planted a seed in an improved farm and instantly used guano, it would take two to make it bloom.

I had a stack of 12 rot, and barely could fertilize just one of my recently planted basic farms. Guano is much better for fast growing crops even better than manure (see above link,) no question. Just no-go on building farms of course.
