In the meantime, I suggest that you console-spawn yourself a horn if this bug happened to you because you deserve to have one. When I get hosed out of items because the pig king or crafting machines drop them in mid air (or the same thing happens when I die and respawn,) I have no qualms console debugspawning items since the game literally cheated me out of items. If there is no horn from a legitimate kill, you should accept debugspawning that horn as well.
