Will be different types of DLC planned?

Recommended Posts

It's a singleplayer game.

^This. and not only ^This but also because it's heavily moddable. If it were cosmetic only, that would be easy to just replace as a mod. The DLC would then just come down to who wants to support Klei, and that's not what DLCs are about. It would be a waste of everyone's time.

I'm as sure as someone can be that's not on the dev team that the DLC will not be cosmetic only and will not be what you fear either.

I say why not go big and make each dlc a small add-on in scope content wise. Have there be several dlc packs each containing a new biome with new creatures, items, dangers, weather types and more included.

That way we can have things suggested long ago like a beach, desert, jungle, savanna and Island.

I agree, but don't forget we need reasons to go to these new places.  There needs to be things there that change the game for us.  An example would be structure building and you could only get the supplies by fighting your way through a new area.  Stuff like that there.

I agree, you should have a reason to go there. I suppose the introduction of a new danger or a potental reward can accomplish that easily enough. Imagine finding a chest containing a special recipe for a new structure and a bit of the resources needed for it. That would entice you enough to make a visit I think.

I actually doubt Klei would stop them from posting it here. That being said, I doubt even more that modding the DLC features, aside from art, will even be possible, let alone it being worth a modder's time.

Agree.  Doing anything even remotely interesting is beyond the reach of about 99% of modders anyway (and I include myself in that 99%).
