Deerclops And Pengulls

Recommended Posts

I'm on day 200something in my first world that I actually reached winter in. After the first winter, pengulls just kinda stopped showing up entirely and I haven't seen a deerclops ever spawn. Neither of these are really all that gamebreaking, but it would be nice to get these anyway.

Any way to make these happen other than directly spawning with the debug menu thing?

The world type is completely default.

Also, assuming the bug is hotfixed by you updating to the latest version, make sure you look for them on ocean borders to jump out in winter again and know they do not go back to their old nesting grounds.  If may be necessary to go to a new world to implement these hotfix updates.

Am I the only one who doesn't have problem with pengulls spawning?
Pengull only spawn whenever character near the edge of the land, so they can jump up from water to land to gathers around the nest.

If you don't run to the edge they won't appear.

The pengulls one is a bug. Not sure if they fixed it or not.

Deerclops has a set path in the island. If you turtle in your base in winters you're never gonna encounter him.

Am not sure I understand last sentence. You are implying that Deerclops has a set path in the island, then you say if you stay in your base you are never going to encounter it.

Then maybe my base was built in his path? As he always shows up at my base if he spawns :)

So if you have structures that are built elsewhere on the island, which also happens to be in the path of the Deerclops, will they get destroyed in your absence?

No because they're not rendered. Only if you're nearby. (1-2 screens away)

because of this, I recommend moving away from your base once you hear the warnings
