Keep in mind that we may revisit the tuning in the future, when you actually have to complete a post Shadow Rift questline before the Sanctum resets. For those wondering, I think there may be a small update when Cawnival returns, but the next main update we're working on is the Shadow update Part 2. Bug Fixes Fixed repaired Sanctum Waymarks not properly reverting back to broken state during Sanctum reset. Fixed bug where you could “deconstruct” a Portation Orb Fragment back into a whole Portation Orb. Fixed crash when Shadow Creatures spawn in the Sanctum. No, you shouldn't treat this as a bug. Items like Dragon Scale Flooring have always been deconstructable to yield more raw materials — why do you always impose these kinds of restrictions on newly added content? It was the same with Terramite, and now this again. You always seem to want the things players obtain to be useful but still feel lackluster, forcing us to grind for them over and over. The fact that the Sanctum and Ruins resets are tied together means every round trip covers an extremely long distance, to the point where you're guaranteed to spend Orb Fragments on travel. And the drop rate for these things is already painfully low. On top of that, creating a teleport point itself costs three fragments. The acquisition method is also way more troublesome than just defeating a boss like before. Now you not only need to beat the Ancient Guard Tower boss, but also spend the better part of a day following Sanctum Waymarks all over the maze to collect Portation Orbs, then go back to a room and break them apart. The time cost is even longer than just riding a Beefalo back and forth — so what exactly is the point of "saving time" with teleportation? In my view, the powerful minion I get from defeating the Ancient Guard Tower already gives me enough incentive to grind repeatedly. No, please don't do this! At the very least, add a reliable way to farm Portation Stones, instead of forcing everyone to wait the full 20 days for the Ancient Gateway to reset. For example, we could use certain materials obtained after unlocking the Shadow Rift to instantly shorten its cooldown. I was destroyed when farmed alot of celestial champions by winona for infinity-teleports across map. I look at bosses like tool-unlocker, not a grind wall. bundling wrap, trident, bone armor set + optional rifts, living shield, dupable dragonscales, dupable weather pains, almost-infinity light-lamp, fridge-back-pack, repairable eyebrella, lazy-team-caller e.t.c. mb we can do something else, like unlock portation orb craft ability and deconstruct orbs instead of shards. So you’re still technically going to be waiting half this year.. or at least a quarter of the year. But at least there won’t be a skill tree in between. Its interesting that the Dev mentions the Cawnival though.. it has been ABANDONED for several years now, with no new content, and not even any new Mini-Games to play in the Trade Inns Curiosity's tab. Yes, and Orb Fragments won't give your turf fireproof properties, nor will they give you Shroom Skin from a 99999 HP boss to make lamps. So you're just stating an irrelevant fact. It’s a deconstruction staff, not a construction staff. In the craft, we are breaking down the orb into fragments. Besides the Green staff was a sucky solution anyway, the way to obtain it normally should be good and not bandaided by the possibility of duping them. I wish at some point it ends up being something like the old way. Maybe killing all 4 of the guard towers in a room will make the crafting station create some fragments. And the game will even giving you fewer fragments to punish you for fixing the waymarks. This just doesn't make sense. The green staff duping is indeed a stopgap measure. The root problem is the low yield of orb fragments and how tedious it is to obtain them. The time "saved" by teleportation is pretty much offset by the time wasted in the whole process. And this won't change until part 2? What does the shortcuts and the puzzles inside the Sanctum even mean now? Obstacles to getting Orbs? I really don't get it. Jenny 05 Justic Posted 5 hours ago Share Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Getting orbs right now feels like the Houndius Shootius — not worth the effort, yet too valuable to just ignore. It's a reward for beating multiple bosses, locked behind an elaborate process, and requires defeating the Ancient Fuelweaver just to farm it again. And speaking of the Houndius Shootius — a repaired Clockwork Bishop only costs two rocks, has 900 HP and deals AoE damage. Ancient Guard Towers have 6000 HP and can attack Shadelings. Both of these make Bernie, the pride and joy of a strong character like Willow, look pathetic by comparison. Meanwhile, the Houndius Shootius is also a renewable reward from the final boss and also a stationary guard tower, yet at this point, it's long overdue for a buff. Could we use Astral Detector in Sanctum in the early stage of the game to excavate some buried orb fragments? Every time Sanctum is reset, these hidden orb fragments can be re-excavated. And after complete a post Shadow Rift questline, Sanctum will open a hidden room where we will get Distilled Knowledge to learn to make a production station that can process and create orb fragments, just like Shadowcraft Plinth and Brightsmithy PS: I still think it's a bit strange that Keystone can be obtained repeatedly. I think they don't want us to go ham with them until the game is 'finished' - which makes complete sense if the world retires into more of a sandbox from that point onwards.
