Before I simply assume you're just recklessly throwing that word around, what is the definition of "powercreep"? And how has it been relevant over the years.

Don't reply to me with a snarky essay either; you're better off making a whole thread explaining the issue so everyone can see and discuss amongst themselves.

Skill tree updates are going to be more focused, and we’re going to keep things limited to one or maybe two characters for an update. Players have come to expect a lot from these updates now, and we want to make sure we do our best to try and deliver on that. 

 

I really wish they’d finish the skill trees. It’s honestly one of the most annoying things in the game, some characters have them and others don’t. And even if we get ones as cool as WX-78’s, waiting 2–3 years is just way too much. (Besides that, I like where things are going, well done guys)

I agree. I had and continue to have a lot of fun with DSTogether, i would not be bothered at all for not having those in DSElsewhere. No legacy should hold designer's creativity on the matter. When I paid for skins in Don't Starve Together, I wanted exactly those skins. If I want something in the next game, it's only fair that I have to buy a new product.

btw it still says content file locked, I cant update the game I tried restarting and starting as administrator scanned all files nothings working aaaaa I even re-downloaded the game lol

Well, if you're trying to decide on whose skill tree to do next, there's some data here on what the community would prefer. It seems there's a rather overwhelming preference for one character in particular.

Okay sure let me explain it to you, I forget exactly how many skill points it required cause I haven’t played as him in a long time, but Wilson’s torch skill tree is laughably bad… the main character in Hades 2 has a better Torch Skill Tree. And no I’m not just name dropping a different game here, comparing Wilsons Torch skill points to any other skill tree in DST is just.. it’s disappointing, THAT is “Power Creep” meaning that skill trees started out lackluster and overtime with each character got more and more insane, but that also made the previous skill trees look uninteresting in comparison.

Now with that out of the way: I hope and pray that DSE has no skins in the game at all… EVER! Why? Because Solo DS had no skins at all EVER, but what did we get instead? Three major DLC expansions & a Campaign Mode.

Game Content > Skins that only look pretty but don’t add to game content.

Personally I wouldn't care too much on the skins being ported over or not, some definitely should be like "Proof of Purchase" ones, including the ones coming with the board game Kickstarter rewards.

Excited for DSE, I'm rooting for you guys on this one, really hope it blows our minds and humbles us after years of growing complacent as players in DST 😁

apart from that I am excited for the updates coming slower from now on ^^ And about the parallel of DSE and DST and the more stories, especially the ones focused on the other creatures of that world. (like in those intermissions). The "voiceacting" in the cartoons of the characters and the creatures are so adorable.

its likely it has nothing to do with charlie, this seems like its the other part of the constant completely, past beyond charlie's control

I mean eventually I’d like to see the focus shift to elsewhere completely but I know it’s super early. Really want it on console that’s how I’ve been playing from the beginning.

Waiting for the next update will always be a bit boring. I think maybe you can add some interesting small challenges for players? For example, constructing a world similar to DS adventure mode levels. It only needs to utilize existing content and make some modifications, but it is easy to attract players to try.
For example, constructing a world entirely composed of labyrinth, with players' birthpoints scattered in various corners, possessing some initial resources, obtaining new resources by searching treasure chests, and searching for clearance items within the vast maze. Of course, there is also the possibility of encountering danger ..
There are many such things, such as the desert that is always summer, the world of islands, and the mushtree forest caves where earthquakes occur frequently Create new challenges by modifying some mechanisms and maps. It doesn't need to be particularly concerned about balance, but this kind of thing is really refreshing.:razz:
