IDK if something changed or I just never noticed.. but lately when dupes go idle, they hang out right at the Atmo Suit Checkpoint and cycle suits on and off.

There are plenty of places within my base that are safer and more pleasant. I have a rec room, kitchen, banquet hall, etc.  Before I built the atmo suits, they would hang out in the bathroom of all places. 

 

Has anyone else noticed a recent change to how the dupes idle and it causing problems like cycling suits until they break?

Agreed they should bring back the jobs board! 

However, I thought the introduction of the WATER COOLER was with the intention of THAT'S where they idle. But, I guess on official Downtime blocks only?

I thought so too, but yeah, they hang out around the water cooler only during downtime and only if there isn't any other recreation activity they wanna do.

The lack of a "idle dupe attractor" is a long-term annoyance. It is not really bad, because if you have dupes idling breaking suits, you also have dupes available to fix them. It is still very inelegant. I have had colonies where I did fix the inelegance by providing prio 1 hamster wheels (interrupted every 30 seconds or so). I think what is really missing is that idle dupes go to a specific room or building. Like a "games room" or a park or something.
