Personally I'd be down for something related to Ancients.

Maybe a rougelike where an Ancient is trying to escape Tenbrau purgatory.

Or a city builder where we manage the surface Ancient Civilization and get to see what really happened to drive them underground

A game where you pick a survivor and it's basically just Rainworld in vibes but Don't Starve and you uncover the past of the ancients by living through it like the plays in DST but like physical

It will be "Temple run" but in the DS verse

Balancing and gameplay changes for solo and team  ? No way... It seems impossible for Klei...

A city builder would mean Mayor of Pigtown would finally become a reality

Yes, and now... There was a "recent" trailer where Wanda and Wilson traveled through the dimensions of constants. They even went to New Home and RoG...

I don't think was canon. It was just a way for the devs to showcase all the adventures that the series has gone on throughout the years. The video game equivalent of a clip show.

Just realised how this makes no sense when you think about how Wes is unlocked (and other characters from DS DLCs).

Headcanon: Wes and Wilson were in the same layer of The Constant and after Wilson frees him, Wes resurrects but since he is a mime he can't say where base and so he is lost forever until cyclum.

I think they were just using portals and teleportatoes to move around the larger Constant? They got split up with the old characters at some point.

The nightmare throne can move around, so they can't just find Charlie at the old spot.

I would prefer a DS RogueLite assuming one is ever made to NOT be like Hades (a combat heavily focused game) and to instead be more like Guidus Mobile, (a wacky dungeon exploration game with a cast of 18+ unique playable characters) the hades style works well for TMNT splintered fate, and it would probably even work well for a Bat-Family or X-Men style game, but not DS/DST..

I imagine that a DS RogueLite would more realistically play like Guidus, Moonlighter (without the shop keeping part) The Land Beneath Us, or even Dungeons&Gravestone.

I imagine that it would be similar to one of those, the foundation for it already exists within the ruins where we “spleunk” through chests for loot or the Hamlet DLC etc..

This would also explain the Wes thing and the fact you can meet other characters on the throne.

But there's no reason not to think that it's not canon. Although for me, the true canon is DS, or what DS was before it was released... The original concept of Don't Starve !

the probability of copying the same 15-year-old formula, outdated engine and mechanics all over again is rather very low.

It's going to be Dont Starve in name only but with a different game genre for sure

The two previously announced plans for this franchise were geared towards the mobile world (DST by Netflix and Don't Starve: Newhome). Newhome recently had a closed beta (June 2025) in China, according to a content creator. So I'm betting on the announcement of this game. Therefore, it makes more sense for Klei (through a partnership) to target iOS/Android than to make a single-player game for PC.

Does it seem like the Triple-i initiative is going to be a venue for announcing a mobile game, though? I admittedly didn't look very hard but it doesn't seem like they've featured any announcements for mobile-only projects.

the background of the seak peak looks nothing like a mobile game at all, also i dont think people like new home a lot
