Hey guys, quick update, we're just over two weeks into beta now!

Where we started, here are some of the guidelines we had set for this skill spotlight in particular:

  • try to make underused circuit types more viable
  • try to design a more utility focused skilltree
  • have 3 unique paths, but at least one thing (even if minor) that synergizes between each pairing. (e.g. Delivery Drone used in tandem with Transferring Consciousness to a Backup Chassis across the map.)

Where we're at now, we still have to finish the Affinity skills.  We'll keep working on improving the Gamma Circuits as well.  The Spin-Cycle, I do apologize for the confusion, but as some people assumed already, it's meant to be AOE and possibly allow for a limited amount of movement, just not finished yet.  We were so focused on just trying to get this hotfix out before everyone left for the long weekend, because it contained all the tech changes needed to finally make Spatializer Circuit work properly.

In regards to the Circuit balancing, the team has been thinking relative to the overall changes that Wx will be receiving when the skilltree eventually goes to live, rather than comparing to one beta version that only existed for a few weeks on the test branch.  We hope to gather more feedback based on this new baseline for any further tuning needed.

Oh! Good to see it's gonna be more utility! Eager to see the next update!

Edit: Did anyone notice the AOE of Electrification Circuit will force you to quit block state? That's kinda weird cause I thought they were designed to cooperate

ok, so that makes sense. the axe spin is so **** cuz it was unfinished

 

Happy to see the balancing of circuits its still gonna be worked on, the circuitry skills are in avery weird spot right now but with new batches of circuits incoming and tweaks left to be added probably the current aproach its the best.

Hope the chassis skills can be also reviseted to expand utility on them

Its nice to see that there will be further tweaks, but I wonder how impactful will be the affinities

Also if your armor breakes it also forces you out of blocking.

Any animation related action will force you out. Which is why I believe block circuit should be a limited duration action instead of cooldown. Block for 3 seconds, then activate again by clicking ANYWHERE on the screen unless you have equipped item with additional action on the click.

Honestly, I think the nerfs were excessive. I understand that at the beginning, obviously the healing was buggy and 60% damage was too much, but honestly, it wasn't worse than a characters with extra damage. And if it was meant to be a tank, it makes sense for it to be a robot. The new chips just seem a bit weak, honestly, I found them a little disappointing. Maybe I expected too much, but that's my problem with expectations. WX has always been my favorite character in the game, and he was strong and will continue to be even without a skill tree, at least in his own way. But I find it strange that people talk about how OP he is and complain about the skill tree when we compare him to Walter, Wig, and Wolf, who are far stronger than the current WX and much more.

That being said, the new animations are very good, and have a great weekend and a happy Easter!

O bloqueador e o circuito de som são bastante potentes se você tentar utilizá-los.

If the blocker were damage reduction, but honestly, I'd prefer having speed and dodge circuits as standard, it might be useful in very specific fights, and even then, the cooldown is very slow. And the sound mechanic, I honestly don't know how to like it, I never liked that mechanic in other skill trees or characters, and now it's no different.

Block mechanic synergies really well with the electric circuit which now has the electric arcs do damage. The sound one is fantastic if you have friends you attack for you.

me with my feedback of gamma circuit:

1.redigestion circuit

Literally speaking, I don't see the point of this thing. WX has to deliberately eat useless rotten food to make it, and needs to carry a water balloon all day long to ensure eating it. Its 18 hunger recovery is completely not worth the effort I put in to produce it.I think this circuit should simultaneously reduce the difficulty of producing and eating Nutribrick. 

MY suggestions: treat the nutribrick as a compressed biscuit—it can be eaten directly instead of using the tedious process of wetting it. Also, give WX two ways to produce: retain the original producing way; each time WX eating food exceeding his hunger limit, record the overflow value, and produce one Nutribrick for every 18 hunger( or less!) overflow.

Oh my god, I nearly forgot, this circuit occupies the sinful 2 slots, it only deserves me one slot using it.
 

2.blocking circuit

I noticed v2c mentioned paying attention to the interaction between the two paths.

In my understanding, this circuit needs to interact with the electrification circuit in the Beta path, and they do indeed interact. However, the problem is, how do you get the mob to lock onto WX as their target? I think the circuit's current running situation is too idealistic. In multiplayer games, the mob might simply ignore a stationary WX. and it is not reasonable to set a max damage tolerance, why there is a limit here? it is completely contrary to the design intention: helping to absorb damage like a shield.

My suggestion: Add a taunt perk to this circuit when using the block skill. remove the max damage tolerance

PS: If it could reduce to 3 slots and add a taunt perk, I would be very happy to carry it around all day, providing a strong sense of psychological security for my teammates.
 

3.sonic-invoker circuit

Given that I haven't seen any Maxwell players use their fear perks, I would conclude that this circuit is completely useless, its existence is problem itself. the perk does nothing and help solve no problems. It's just exist there, unnoticed by anyone. I think it should be removed immediately.
it is just like wilson says: it is a ....thing.
 

4.spin-cycle circuit

Many people have pointed out the problems with this circuit: the slow attack speed and limited weapon options are the main issues.

My suggestion is to slightly increase the attack speed and broaden the range of usable weapons to include polearms such as: spears (only 7 more attack power than axes), combat spears, bat clubs, morning stars, and scythes.

When you do the AOE electric attack, it puts you out of block, whice makes the block and electic circuit not work well, You said that the new circuits are un-finished, so i hope it'll get changed.
Maybe you should make transforming mass amount of rot into nutri-bricks faster, the animation is really cool but it takes too long.

Please return to this basis, a lot of people were enjoying the initial state, even if SOME aspects were a bit strongly tuned.
Also more communication!! More reasoning as to why changes are happening will end up saving everyone the headache.

Happy Easter to the entire team! You’ve all been working incredibly hard lately. Even though I personally feel some of the nerfs were a bit excessive, I believe the skill tree is generally moving in the right direction. Great job. Now, take a breather and enjoy your well-deserved holiday!

i just found out that the the explosion of Electrification Circuit could would break the defensive state of blocking circuit. but how does the Electrification Circuit tandem with the Blocking circuit if the break happened?

god i dont mean to blame you anything but there seems to a very severe conflict between your design and your concept:-(

When you say this, does it still work on basic attacks or would it be like a special attack? I kind of adore the way it functions as a replacement of the chop and attack function and if it stayed there with the AoE I’d be so in love. Time to put on my marble armor, health circuits, and SPIIIIN!

Please take your time with this! The Skill-Tree is shaping up to be a great one however theres still quite a lot that needs tuning/improved!

I do hope atleast 1 more gamma circuit makes it in before launch. There currently isnt any 1 slot gamma circuits which is a shame. I hope that we get one before the update comes out. 😊

And personally you guys should be more transparent and direct with us with no fear, about thing like the spin circuit, the comunity os good understantable for the most part, and we ALL TRUST YOU GUYS TOTTALY
