Maxil20 Posted April 3 Share Posted April 3 As someone who was expecting the gamma circuits to be pretty gamechanging and didn't say much during the beta to wait for them, it's kinda disappointing that they are just... Not? Like basically at all??? It's kinda unfortunate their power still sits in an odd level where for casual players/runs they look pretty appealing, but for skilled players they don't really offer much incentive to play them long term at all (especially compared to trees like Willow/Walter/Winona/Wortox where their trees are very playstyle warping and retain viability even in the endgame). The only thing I can see myself wanting to play WX for is for the elasticspaced slots to move stuff from the surface to caves, and that's very niche. I was really disappointed with these Gamma chips; they were supposed to be the game-changers, but I feel like they just proved how weak the character has become. Literally no one used this circuit on live and people definitely will now. It is massively stronger versus live since it is literally useless as is on live. Seems like a fair change to me although I could see giving 10% back. I would be fine with a clean 30% or 33%, and late game I quite enjoyed a bean-booster, hunger and 1 pip health circuit. It was pretty chill when I was just doing stuff around the base, I had a beef with a glossamer saddle too so I wasn't too slow either. I do see your point though, now people can be fast, durable, sane and have a decent health pool + sheild (regens a little slow at the moment). Try moving shards or using the celestial orb on the portal to respec your tree. It's a shot in the dark but worth a shot. 66AKU66 Posted April 3 Share Posted April 3 I tried out those new circuits and I didn't like the combat circuits because it's not rewarding fast pace actions. Example blocking circuit (same for Sonic-Invoker) that allow to block as I understand "x" amount of hits and you can stand still some amount of seconds and it's recharging like more than 1 minute! Not fun. The good example of fast pacing that I enjoy would be Wheeler with her kiting skill. I could care less about having 3 types of circuits if they have to be nerfed into mediocrity. I would rather just have my highs high again. Wolfgang literally has a superhardy circuit, a supergastro circuit, superprocessing circuit baseline and over 2x the damage as WX for free. WX has to literally work and spend time to be worse than Wolfgang at this point. The skill tree values keep getting nerfed, while the new circuits haven't received the buffs they deserve. I have the following suggestions: 1. Circuit roles need to be more clearly defined. α circuits should enhance the three basic stats. β circuits should improve quality of life (heat/cold circuits, movement speed, and night vision). γ circuits should be combat-related (yes, the shadow and moon faction circuits are also in γ — I'll explain why later). 2. The Super-Hardy Circuit's effect should be changed from damage reduction to regenerating 1 HP every few seconds (like a weaker version of Jellybean). The Electrification Circuit should be moved to γ. 3. New γ circuits: · Attack multiplier circuit (unlocked by scanning a Varg / Varglet). Takes up 2 slots. The skill tree could enhance it by increasing the attack multiplier further — numbers can be adjusted. Since Varg and Varglet aren't easy to find early on, the power level stays under control, while late-game experience improves. · Armor circuit (unlocked by scanning a Rock Lobster / Slurtle). Takes up 3 slots. The skill tree could grant additional damage reduction. Again, numbers can be tuned. · Tentacle circuit (unlocked by scanning a Tentacle / Big Tentacle). Takes up 1 slot. Attacks have a chance to summon a small tentacle. The skill tree could upgrade it so the summoned tentacle becomes a shadow tentacle. 4. The Blocking Circuit needs a mechanic change. I currently have two suggestions. Change the scan requirement to Snurtle. Change the crafting material from Shelmet to Broken Shell. Adjust the slot cost to 2–3. One suggestion: make it work like Wigfrid's shield — blocking on command. The other: give it the effect of the Snurtle Shell Armor, but with a cooldown (5–10 seconds). 5. The Spin-Cycle Circuit is clearly underwhelming. Maybe add a chance to summon a Lightning bolt that strikes the primary attack target, dealing 10–75 damage based on how wet the target is. That could work. Alternatively, rework the Spin-Cycle Circuit entirely: attacks could apply electricity, and it could interact with the Electrification Circuit to allow the player to actively trigger an area-of-effect electric shock under certain conditions. Finally, a personal take: WX-78 currently gives me the feeling that each player can choose different circuits based on their own playstyle — both for survival and combat. Yes, we need to keep defensive circuits in check, but that shouldn't come from non-stop nerfs. Instead, we should be making more interesting circuits so players can make meaningful trade-offs. Do you want more extreme offense or more extreme defense? Or do you sacrifice both for the sake of better or more interesting circuits?
