Developer V2C Posted March 28 Developer Share Posted March 28 Hey guys, we've been trying to finish up some of the more tech heavy changes needed, especially with the Spatializer Circuit, to get that out in a hotfix before the weekend. We're still working on the remaining skills, but next week we will also put some focus on retuning the current Circuits. To be honest, it is very likely that we will be adjusting down their effects overall. It may not be a popular change immediately, but we feel some rebalancing is necessary, and the sooner we can get feedback on it the better. Huge thanks to everyone currently in the Beta! Changes Roto-Mapper can now be selected even if it is out of range from WX-78, but can only be sent back to destinations within range. Spatializer Circuit changes: Expansive Storage Unit now stays installed as long as the circuit is plugged in. Can only be opened if the corresponding circuit is powered. Can no longer be moved or dropped. No longer requires the player to be stationary to keep it open. Players may need to Unplug and reinstall their circuits in existing beta save files for these changes to take proper effect. Updated art to help distinguish between Circuit types (Alpha, Beta, etc.) Bug Fixes Fixed bug with Riled Abigail not targeting properly. B.U.D.D.Y. will now tend to nearby farm plants. Fixed a crash with the Illumination Circuits while teleporting in the Sanctum. Fixed WX-78’s Circuit actions not networked properly on clients. Fixed a crash that sometimes happened when unplugging circuits. Fixed night vision improperly updating with the Optoelectronic Circuit and Moggles. Fixed Thermal Circuit steam fx alignment on Backup Chassis and while mounted on a Beefalo. Fixed Backup Chassis highlighting on the Map after swapping to another character. Fixed Circuits showing up as unpowered after Transferring Consciousness in the HUD UI. Fixed W.O.B.O.T., W.I.N.bot, and Woby from trying to store items inside of a Backup Chassis. Fixed a crash with Buzzards attacking. Fixed players saying the wrong phrase when trying to shave Woodie. If it is for perks I think it could be good, but if it is for basic stat I'll be kinda disappointed, especially for alpha ones, cause I think 1 super-hardy, 1 beanbooster and 1 super-gastrogain is the "standard stat" of WX to compare with other characters(250hp/200san/200hunger), other circuit combinations are extreme case like 600/100/100. And the "standard stat" take the scanning and dealing with 2 bosses(spider queen, which takes time to wait; and bee queen, which takes much armour or other resources to defeat), and also need enter the cave to find slurper. While Wurt feed a merm king can gain 250/250/200. It's really unfortunate when skills are put into beta too powerful and then left like that because people might get upset about "nerfing" what are unreleased test skills with often essentially shot in the dark initial values. I feel like the main reason for the skilltree power creep people are now complaining about is that betas have become more lengthy and involved instead of just testing for bugs, and people clamor for skills to be made stronger and stronger. Happy to see this this time. It may not be a popular change immediately, but we feel some rebalancing is necessary noooo they're gonna make super processing get shot dead in the bronx im not super sure what nerfs would be planned besides nerfing the stats of alpha circuits, since a lot of beta circuit nerfs i think would make them too weak (for instance, making thermal/cooling less effective would make a lot more people keep using 3 speed circuits and just make traditional seasonal gear)? maybe it is mostly alpha circuit nerfs planned; namely, an across the board nerf that makes stacking them have diminishing returns (similar to speed circuit stacking)? maybe theyre just gonna make speed circuit stacking less strong to encourage using only one. im curious to see, if a little hesitant because i think insightless WX is in a reasonable spot right now, with only some circuits (super speed) needing tweaks. although that would almost definitely change if i had the gamma circuits and alignment to base my assumptions off lol. or did you mean tweaking circuit effects gained from insight? because that i could see a case for. 2 minutes ago, Digi62BR said: How do I win this? It feels very in your face shouting at you which circuit goes where. We have the unique prongs and pointed tips, which also is shown in the circuit menu. I would be more okay with it if it was toned down a bunch, the circuits have so many ways to tell them apart now. It looks silly currently. None of them even really stand out to me as "overpowered" in any capacity. People like speed but that's just because it's speed. Not making any headway with WX at all if we're gonna keep tripping up over if they should be good at the one thing that they do. Maybe I sound melodramatic. But work with me here. The only time I've ever gotten the electrification blast to proc was against Bee Queen (The most annoying boss ever) despite trying to get it to deliberately trigger against things like hound waves and monkeys and other various crowd control situations where having something like that would even Be useful. At least right now most circuits feel satisfying enough in having utility on their own without stacking multiple. (Rangebooster... I don't like rangebooster.) I mean they kind of already did. plus side is i can go all in on chassis and probably still have enough for gamma and affinity depending on how those shake out Spoiler It should have been diminishing returns(15/10/)5,but even then it wouldn't have mattered. to put it simply using one of the lowest base cases and 1 hp circuit for 250hp. deerclops doing 75 damage a hit will kill you in 3.3 hits. at 5% you will take 73 damage dying at 3.47 hits at 15% it will do 66 killing you in 3.7 hits. no matter what you will die in 4 hits. this is even less noticeable with smaller numbers after armor mitigation and other bosses that hit harder the breakpoint for 1 full point of damage is 25 p.s. it got a 75% nerf from 20 to halved to 10 to halved to 5. they already cut the shield charge in half which took like 10 minutes to charge with 2 health circuits and a bean booster. do that again and we are going to about 40 minutes to fully shield up. If you nerf things first and then release new content, you’ll likely need to rebalance again later, which could delay the full release even further. I can accept nerfs to clearly overpowered abilities, but in that case, please also nerf how Wortox can quickly gather souls from Killer Bees—it’s far too strong.
