I really wish Klei would release seasonal events earlier than the last week of the month. It'd be a lot more fun to have halloween stuff all throughout October, or christmas stuff during December, rather than most of the event being during the following month.

a lot of online places do the seasonal event during the week/s leading up to the holiday. klei doing it like this means people can do the regular stuff in their main places and still have the event in dst too after the other stuff is over

True, But Hallowed Nights having a world Gen toggle means you can turn it back on even if you missed the event during the seasonal time it was intended, and because I am weird, yes.. yes I totally do play in worlds locked to Hallowed Nights all year round.

I’ma get my best Tim Burton on & for once in my life, I’m not going to let people criticize & judge me for it! 🥰

Ahem: Anyways, what I meant to say was even if Klei released the event alongside every other games events… I’m not sure about those other games but at least with DST you can switch it back on if you miss it.

And because I’m a self-imposed certified advocate for all things spooky- I’m just going to drop a few game names here that y’all might not be aware even have “seasonal events” and I’ll skip the obvious ones you already KNOW have events going on.

Moonlighter, City of Brass, Batman Arkham City, Killing Floor 2 have seasonal events.

Now what you have to understand here is that some games (like Fortnite) have a limited time content update that lasts for a while then goes away.

Meanwhile the games I listed above have not been updated in several years, yet they have built in seasonal events that toggle themselves on when your console is playing the game during that time of year.

And yes: you actually can go into your consoles settings and change your day/month so it tricks the game into thinking it’s the appropriate time of year.

However I much prefer Klei’s way: where they add an actual toggle so I can enable it whenever I like without needing to alter my consoles calendar just to enjoy something as meaningless to actual gameplay as say “zombies with elf costumes on”

So this is me just wanting to thank Klei for Adding a toggle (for people who miss the limited time event & also for people who just enjoy the theme 24/7)

Does something happen to the trade inn during events or was that whole thing completely phased out? I remember back in the day it was more likely to give chests (and maybe higher rarity stuff?) during events.

I dimly remember some part of how halloween costume outfits were given out were nerfed, hard. They gave way too many spools when unravelled.
