Add little bugs

do they have souls?

No. They kick remarkably tiny puppies, work a nine to five in a big city, and additionally criticize freeform jazz as “gaudy”, so they’re clearly soulless. They should be the first addition where you lose naughtiness for killing them.

Not everything needs to serve gameplay purpose. The devs should add TONS of little bugs, plants and fish as particle effects simply because the world would look more alive that way

Maybe, but the little bugs and wildlife of Hamlet and Shipwrecked still yielded SOME sort of reward.

I don’t know if anyone has ever played Spelunky but in that game there are some extremely small mice or beetles you can pick up, they don’t “do” anything, but should you happen to not have anything better to throw, these tiny little guys will safely set off arrow traps for you.

I figure that every mob in a game like DST should have a purpose, rather that is a small new resource, or a alternate method of obtaining an existing resource.

Take for example the small glowing pebble crab things found on MoonQuay, killing these (should you actually be fast enough to catch them) will yield an alternate method of obtaining broken shells.

Its nothing “game changing” but if Klei was to add something like “rabbit fur” I’d expect to just like in Minecraft: be able to combine 4 of the smaller furs into a larger fur, etc…

Purely cosmetic mobs, are a waste of opportunity to give the player more resources, reasons to **want** to live in and interact with the game world etc.

Ah, so they're rich, too? Makes total sense. Are their larvae money-grubs?

Hey Klei if your looking for crossover mob ideas- Spelunky Scorpion Fly.

Your Welcome ;)

More Context: it’s exactly what the name says it is.

Further Context beyond that: It’s a Fly & then it’s a Scorpion.

Final Thoughts on Context: it’s Two Enemies in One.

Plus: Spelunky & Spelunky 2 are awesome! <3
