For whatever reason, the tribute often teleports to the nearest shore now.

Yea I remember seeing that happen in a video (I'm pretty sure jakeosaurus) I think it happens when it gets glitch under the ice and teleports to shore instead of spawn

It seems to happen to me about half the time now.

Pretty sure you know this already.. but You can’t just fight CK, you have to be forced to fight beef’d up CK (with pearls Pearl inserted) otherwise it won’t drop.

Ive only actually done this quest ONCE, and I cheated like crazy by just assaulting him with a massive swarm of bees.

You didn't cheat the fight, you provoloned his crustaceous bum.

I always liked bee/killer bee strategies. With the existence of bee mines, it's harder for me to consider it pure cheese. It's definitely straddling the line, though.

The way I look at that is pretty simple: They’re a Weapon, labeled as a Weapon, intended to be used as a Weapon, found in the games dedicated Weapons tab, if Klei didn’t want them to be that effective they would do the extra work to program their boss to swat the bees out the air.

This is a bug due to the ice floor blocking the nearby tiles around the tribute. This activates the mechanic that teleports sunk heavy objects if they're unretrievable (despite the ice floor breaking a few seconds later). I've filed a bug report here:

But it was Christmas Eve so presumably the devs missed it and it got buried in their backlog. I'll file another one later, maybe.

Hmmm. Maybe. But just because the feature is in the weapons tab in the game, doesn't mean it's not a cheese. I still think it's a cheese, but as you said, reeally just crossing the line.

Some things like killing bee queen with stacked fire is considered a cheese, but fire is supposed to do dmg and everything works, but you're avoiding the fight basically.

For cking, you are also basically avoiding the fight so that's why I think it's still a cheese.

Walls in dfly are making you avoid larvae so it's a cheese for me.

For bee queen fire strats, it crosses well into cheese for me due to how individually dropping single stacks of rope does way more fire damage.

I usually use walls for df. Its cheesy, but it's just so easy to do. I wish there was some incentive to not cheese it, really.

First of all, I would like to thank many for their contributions, and many of you were right! I was wandering around in depression, catching mosquitoes for no reason, and then...
It actually washed up on the shore.
Thank you all!
