it's interesting idea, idk what purpose they may have serve but they would be cool for ambient alone.

We've seen some owls in concept art and hamlet so it may give us idea of how they would look like in dst.

And here's how I imagine Owls in dst to look like:

I really wish Klei would just go back to releasing random stuff, such a simple and cool idea would bring so much life to the game, just a weird bird that appeared no reason at all, game is weird by nature anyway. Dunno, but I feel like they are cursed and are eternally forced, by their own choice, to make all updates follow the logic of a that specific lore that progresses, in which they decided they need to adress with priority over anything else, and everything has to have an explanation now, and that's why we've been stuck with this moon/shadow arc for 5 years. If it can't be Wagstaff nor Charlie related looks like it can't happen. And ironically, nothing happens at the same time, even though we've been "progressing" all this time.

No actually. They added the great depth worm, the marotters, the shark nightmare creature in the ruins etc.. There is actually a bunch of random stuff that they keep adding that doesn't require explanation.

And on a nother note, some things DO require explanation. Why would they add a new spider for example without any context? The ones they did add were great, like the watterlogged one and the lunar one.

You kind of mentioned the only two things that have happened since almost the entire Return of Them, that's kind of the point, these are the coolest updates we've had in years, they affect our gameplay, gameplay loop, they're there for everyone to see, they interact without me needing to activate a magic portal that only activates after I've finished everything there is to do in the game, and they're the smallest minority possible. I simply haven't interacted with most of these rift updates and I don't see any reason to, I'm already very happy with the weapons we have, I don't see any reason to have the plus best in slot +99 weapons to kill the same pigs, for years the only thing we've received are reworks and ultra endgame weapons without having... an endgame... so I think it's reasonable to say that it's something they kind of don't do
And I don't say without any context, I mean without a direct action from the antagonists that can be used as an explanation, I think some things can simply happen outside of their control too, that for me limits a lot of what Klei can do, since they have very well-established themes and everything that comes from them is part of those themes, always.

Exactly, but the only reason you might feel this way is probably because of the lack of planar content.

Just imagine, in your mind, if all the content we have for dst right now was equally the amount of planar content added. This game would be just one of the best games to play ever.

Nurse spiders along with other dumb buffs Spider Queen got made an otherwise fun emergent fight into just something you ignore because of how much of a waste of resources it is. If she spawns at all it just means that you walk in the opposite direction, and find another Tier 3 spider nest. Not that it's more dangerous, and difficult to take the spider eggs and silk.

DS spider queen is actually killable with day-to-day gear while DST for some reason requires Dark Swords just to avoid being stuck in an endless loop of her summoning spiders right as you kill them, and reversing what little damage you dealt to her with nurse spiders. Ain't nobody gonna do that when the way she spawns is emergent, and unpredictable by nature.

It's honestly impressive how one mechanic, and a few stat changes to her with spiders made her go from a cool fight to a menial chore that's never worth the effort. Literally her entire purpose now is to just be an impenetrable wall you simply walk around now.

I really like that one. Just pretty cool, and gives something new to ruins.

I agree.

Is it really balanced that willow can set her on-fire and avoid the fight altogether by just pressing F? Idk, but it's part of her kit. I like that bearger for example at least tries to run away lol.

Bearger sprawling into an uncontrolled rage was a pretty cool subversion. Something you randomly discover, and just think that it's cool. Bearger AI in general is surprisingly quite developed compared to other mobs even to this day.

Technically there’s already owls in both DS (Hamlet lightning owl) AND the Masked Owls that mock you during Charlie’s Stage Play.

I think the stage ones are crows. Makes more sense by how they are linked to drama and their shape doesn't look like owls but more like carnival little crows. Is true that the mask make them look like owls tho

They did this with rabbit king and everyone hated it.

Klei implemented it too poorly.
like I can legit fight Rift Content Mobs better than I can solo this stupid rabbit king.

Theres a very logical explanation as to why too, Rift Content Mobs: Including the huge and terrifyingly deadly ones, all have a “Radius” and a “Leash”

Aka: Meaning that if you run far enough away: A Lunar Possessed Varg is going to leave you alone.

But Rabbit King?? Hahaha NOPE! This dude will follow you everywhere you go, even if you run away he will still pop back up.

He wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t ALSO spawn endless minions… Klei should have capped his Minions off: and if you kill out say 7 minions he can’t spawn more.

Then you could focus entirely on the Chuck Norris Rabbit.

Instead, anyone can summon him by shoving a few carrots into a rabbit hole.

Which doesn’t even make sense… WHY is the rabbit spawning in pissed off and ready to murder everyone in sight, if your trying to feed them carrots???

TL:DR- This boss is horrible, and intentionally designed to be Noob Trap.

That said: Sorry for spiraling off topic, I just wanted to vent my hatred towards this particular boss.

Now- Back to the Owls! Bring the Hamlet Lightning Owl.. those were cool and it was neat how they uhm “interacted” with other parts of the world. ;)

Well, basically you have to go after him, otherwise you won't even find him naturally, and despite that, besides being a miniboss, he doesn't drop anything advantageous, besides being quite annoying to tell the truth, in these terms any other update would be hated lol it has nothing to do with just being an unpretentious addition like the otters.
