maroonamanita
It's so rad, I have playing with it for a couple hours, I haven't even looked at it all and can't wait to see what that one perk does. I think some highlights are the sprint on woby and allowing woby to help cut and mine. This is the only skill tree where I have not immediately figured out what my picks are for almost every world. Walrusst
Honestly hats off to them from moving the drying rack thing I suggested from the portable camp fire to woby proper. Dogs a one man survival station now. Also those are some meaty sanity skills. Dr. Safety
How does the cut and mine thing work? Does she just kinda smack the tree/rock with her head like a beefalo or something? kroban
Im biased here but damn, I think Walter's skill tree is probably one of the best, all those months waiting were soo worth it. Woby became a pretty unique mount and a good alternative to Beefalos, has insulation, can use her inventory while mounted, is as fast (or I think faster) than a rider with glossamer, can dash, also assists a lot in picking stuff and foraging, hell she even mines and chop too, its ******* craaazy. Walter scouts perks are really useful specially for early game, also fit him pretty nicely, and his slingshot/ammo got condensed really well. Honestly its so damn good im having a hard time deciding which perks to pick. I thought the previous skill tree was already pretty good but bruh, this new version is THE PEAKEST Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163791-walters-skill-tree-its-peakk-its-peak-i-tell-you/#findComment-1794322 Share on other sites

They give 28 hunger to Woby each, you get 2 of them for 1 monster jerky, and they're imperishable. They're awesome. Furry forager will outright double berry plants output (I need to test if he does this with other plants, and if feeding woby has an effect,) retriever has woby collect items its is already carrying as far as I know. So retriever makes woby a vacuum, forager makes woby an asset. Furry Forager gives you an extra berry from bushes when Walter picks them first Walter picks it then Woby goes over and picks one after it might have other effects but that's the only one I noticed. Roaming Retriever is just fetch except now you don't need to keep specific items in her backpack she'll just collect until you order her to stop or all her slots fill up. Debruh
It's honestly amazing. I love it so much. I have never sturggled with my insight points like this before. I struggle with Willow, Wortox, and Wendy. But with Walter? Dam.. and unlike with them, it feels like not even one single insight point is being wasted. I love love love it so much. Got me on my laptop sweating on what to pick The struggle .mp4 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163791-walters-skill-tree-its-peakk-its-peak-i-tell-you/#findComment-1794401 Share on other sites

DegenerateFurry
This skill tree turns Walter from an underpowered jumbled mess of mechanics into a coherent vision with unique and interesting gameplay. I might even go as far as saying it's the best skill tree so far, and it's making me actually want to play Walter for once. That said, I just had my game crash when I tried feeding Woby a treat while riding her. Anyone else notice that? Turning a weak character into a stronger one, with fun mechanics. But Walter is FULL of them. A lot of Willow's tree is uninteresting buffs to Bernie, ngl. But Walter's tree has few just stat buffs. With each skill being amazing, bringing a new mechanic, and the lack of lots of locks makes it so fun Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163791-walters-skill-tree-its-peakk-its-peak-i-tell-you/#findComment-1794425 Share on other sites
Theukon-dos
As skill tree's strongest hater:tm:, yeah no it's absolutely peak. I don't know how they did it. I am overjoyed that they did it. And I hope they can somehow do it again. There is not a speck out of place on this skill tree. Nothing feels like it was added out of obligation or to make it larger, nothing is a comedically large spike in power. And I can see myself wanting every perk the skill tree offers at one point or another. I am genuinely astounded by how well it came together. 2 hours ago, Walrusst said: Has anyone tried the dog treats? Are they substantially better then monster jerky? From what I could tell, they're pretty much a 1-1 with monster jerky, just with the added benefit of never spoiling.
