Regarding the new skin for Abigail's Flower (The Masquerader)

After I weaved the new skin "The Masquerader" for Abigail's Flower (with the original flower being a lily), I noticed that the summoning animation of this flower seems a bit strange.

In the previous skins of Abigail's Flower, the summon and unsummon effects included multiple petals blooming and retracting. However, in this skin's summon and unsummon animations, it seems like there is only one petal (or rather the whole flower, without the petal scattering effect).

Is this design intentional? Does it relate to the characteristics of a lily? Or is it possibly a bug? I'm not sure.

The game's description of this skin is: "The lily is the perfect flower, whether in mourning or celebration."

You can refer to this video for the specific effects and comparisons with other skins. The first skin demonstrated in the video is The Masquerader. The subsequent displays are comparisons with this skin.

No problem. I didn't knew about the name in english but I knew my mom and or grandmother grew those in their rooms. I've always wanted to toy with the flower bloom itself as a kid for some reason, looked funny.

I agree. The craftsmanship of the Abigail's Flower skin series is very meticulous. Each skin features unique animations for summoning and retracting Abigail, the petal-scattering animation around the screen when Abigail levels up, the petal-flying animation for the vulnerability effect applied by Abigail, and the exclusive icon for displaying Abigail's health in the status bar. Moreover, weaving Abigail's Flower only requires 450 spools instead of 1,350, which makes this series of skins very cost-effective.

Wendy and Abigail's The Swashbuckler and The Achaic skins from both series haven't been released yet, and I'm really looking forward to them! My spools are still enough for me to weave these two!

Considering that I hope that we get some kind of new ancient tree that blooms.

Considering Archaic is usually themed after thulecite/the ancients, I would guess her flower might be a thulecite medallion? After all, not all of her skins have been flowers, such as the survivor and snowfallen being a skull and a snowflake. Plus it already has three states that could be used for reference.

The Calm phase corresponds to Level 1 Abigail, the Warning/Dawn phase corresponds to Level 2 Abigail, and the Nightmare phase corresponds to Level 3 Abigail. This idea is quite interesting, but I feel that it’s a little odd to have Abigail and Wendy wear a thulecite medallion on their heads.

Perhaps we could consider introducing a new type of flower for the ruins, which would have different blooming effects at different stages of the Nightmare Cycle?

That would be neat, though I imagine it'd be something like the survivor's bird skull, where the medallion is set within a wreath of petals to make it stand out from the medallion.

That looks pretty good too.

However, this new skin seems to have another issue: the petal-flying visual effect is missing from Abigail's vulnerability effect. The video compares the skins from The Masquerader and The Verdant series, and the difference can be clearly seen. I'm unclear whether this is a bug, but it has already been reported by someone.

 

Yea I see what you mean by that, not having a unique vfx could make one unsure if the effect is there or not but maybe it's just a minor issue considering how that flower is to be kept in theme of it.
