I'm kind of confused how you would think this would happen at most if there was a huge increase of Chinese forum members who actually planned to stay long term odds are they would simply make separate sections separated by language as you can't expect the current devs to all learn Chinese immediately just because.

It's pity for you have been accustomed to it. Since the "来自域外" version(I am not sure it's official English name), Klei become lazy, especially in 2024, more and more Chinese players couldn't tolerate it any more.

How so? It's much more difficult, both to say and to write.

Basically all of the people speaking Mandarin are in China or near it. 1,140 billion.

Most of English speakers are not natives. There is 360 million natives, but a whooping 1.3 billion English speakers.

Why would English be replaced, when it's used by 1 billion of NON NATIVE speakers worldwide every single day, and Mandarin is used only in your country?

That's why there's a Chinese Internet existing. Only few non-Chinese could read Mandarin, if Klei couldn't response to players' voice beyond the Forum, Chinese players swram into here and the majority will only communicate with others in Chinese, Could you imagine it?

Klei is not the only foreign game company which is popular in China. And most of them will creat an account in Chinese community, and most of them will keep in close contact with their Chinese fans. In that case, Klei is actually an exception.

科雷不是唯一一个在中国受欢迎的游戏公司。并且绝大多数会在简中社区注册账号，这之中的绝大多数都会和他们的中国粉丝保持密切交流。在这个层面上，科雷反倒是个例外。

I mean again they would just make a section for the Chinese language most likely you can't expect a English fourm that focuses mainly on the English language to suddenly become a Chinese because those in charge of this forum specifically are likely English speakers even if not natively and not Chinese speakers adding more people won't change that.

Klei will hopefully try to take steps to fix the communication problems but a influx of Chinese users likely won't change how this forum operates fundamentally.

They said that despite the forum rules saying to speak in English, people posting in Chinese is acceptable, and they will do their best to translate the posts and take them into account.  What is anyone even angry about?  They are doing their best and being as supportive as they can.

No need to repeat your opinion, that's why I will say it's a lose-lose situation. All we need is just a communication channel, 要么科雷过来，要么我们过去，要么大家各走各路。

Klei is a small company.  They don't have the resources of other huge game companies like you are probably thinking about, who can hire a whole area of the company for communication and language work.  They have much less resources and much less people.  They are doing their best, and the post quoted in this outrage thread legitimately is taking the side of the Chinese players, so this whole thing makes no sense.

If I was playing a game from a small Chinese company, and they told me they welcome my feedback, but they all speak Chinese, but would do their best to translate and incorporate my feedback, I would be excited and happy and think that was more than I could expect.  I wouldn't make a post attacking them.

I don't think its unreasonable to expect people to speak English in an English speaking forum. When we all speak different languages we ultimately become unable to understand each other, and that is seemingly unproductive. Not to mention, and although I wouldn't know for sure, but I don't quite think Chinese players would appreciate English speakers going onto Chinese forums and speaking only English.

 

I do agree that Klei should make a statement about this though, there is clearly a lot of confusion and the hostility is generally unwelcome

The purpose of my post was to tell English speaking players to not give Chinese speaking players a hard time for not using English in their posts. I was explaining why the rules say specifically to keep posts in English even though it is not directly enforced (and never has been). 

While I recommend the steps written in that post in order to help communication and keep the forum tidy, my post also specifically says it is not enforced as a requirement for posting.

In that post I also recommended posting in English first with the original language as well, because it allows the reader to use different translation software if there is difficulty understanding the original translation. 

It was written that players in China can come to the Klei Forums for support, because it's the best way to make sure that the most people on the team see it. We have always recommended that all players come to these forums rather than the myriad of other platforms available so we can gather as much feedback in a single place as possible. 

That doesn't mean that any other platform will not be seen, only that the most people will see it here.

I apologize for the misunderstanding.

He or she made discriminatory remarks on the grounds that our country has a large population. I think these remarks are modern version of the Three-Fifths Compromise. I reported these remarks to you about two months ago, but it is still there today. I sincerely hope that you can change this situation. Your inconsistent and ambigious sentences on Klei Forum and Bilibili has caused a lot of inconvenience. For me personally, every time I come here, I feel stressed out, and even now my hands are trembling, thank you.

He said you can post in Chinese.  It's clear.  The answer is "yes".

These posts are already dealt with by moderators, they just don't inform you and everyone else and throw a party when they warn or ban people.  You got your official answer.  Move on.

Chinese people tend to be friendly at first, unless we feel disrespected. I still try to use English on forum instead of Mandarin without translation.

As the Spring Festival approaches, the APP urgently launched a powerful translator which can perfectly translate various obscure Chinese buzzwords, even ancient Chinese, various dialect texts, pinyin abbreviations, and scrambled text segments.

Thank you for your concern, but I still hope to get a definite answer from Joew so I could convey this answer back to Chinese community. I hope to do my part to change the unfriendly atmosphere in the forum, so this question is best answered by the administrator.
