Let Woby swim like a Grass Gator

Recommended Posts

It's perfect because Walter can drown if he's bucked off. And Woby can buck Walter if she reverts to small form or gets hit.

It would be fun! And Walter certainly needs some fun stuff that isn't based on the slingshot. I was shocked to hear that he is tied with Wes as the least played character.

The idea of Woby as great company for Walter surviving the Constant, capable of both swimming on ocean (Big WOH-bee should be faster than rowing a boat) or even jumping between void gap in cave would do well especially to explore faster in early game and get the needed material for his ammunitions. Just need some conditions like swimming would drain Woby's hunger meter faster, the same with jumping would costs "X" from the hunger meter.

I dislike this idea. It seems weird and gimmicky.

Honestly could be cool, though I am still holding out hope for eventual Woodlegs/Walani return, hehe.

Part of me wants this, but most of me doesnt want the dev team to spend even more time on perk trees for all new characters.

They said it during the stream yesterday

ok so i just listened to that and "on par with wes" is not the same as "tied for least played character". walter generally has about 4x the players wes does on any given day and is often played more than warly. calling them tied is a gross misinterpretation when what the dev team said is they are within the same range(in this case probably sub-50 on average which covers a few characters).

Oh ok, I heard wrong then. Still, that is quite bad.

Where are you getting your numbers, out of curiosity?

I don't know I feel like there are more Walters than some other characters as well but at the end of the day we don't have proof the devs do and regardless of how we try to spin it what they said gave this impression and they haven't tried to correct it unlike with some other things mentioned last night so it's hard to believe this isn't the case.

While he's not tied he's in the running for the least played characters at the end of the day.

oh for sure it is quite bad! a quarter of the cast seems to always be under a hundred players at any given time which makes sense for the two paid dlc characters but is concerning for the others(and concerning in a very specific way).

i primarily use https://dst.resamvi.io/  which matches pretty closely to who is playing on twitch and who is playing in hosted games(at least it matches what i see when i am online).

I was using the same site before, but someone pointed out its a pretty small sample size. The devs may have access to wider numbers.

true, it uses steam but i would be very surprised to find a legion of console wes that just so happen to never use twitch or visit the forums or are all mysteriously absent from discord to raise his numbers up enough to account for the notable difference between him and walter on steam

i mean, i love my boy wes but let's not get it twisted. he is meant to be hard without any reward and that just does not appeal to most people. he is also a mime which doesnt exactly endear him to people with coulrophobia or who dont like street performers(which is a lot of people)

I support doggie paddling dogs, it would be both cute and functional

mind you grass gators can only swim in certain depths of water near trees, otherwise they reappear next to their tree.

Shallow only swimming would work, I think. Still really useful!

cool idea but I'd rather tameable grass gators for everyone

Could be both. Walter gets it day 1, everyone else has to seek them out and do the whole taming process. Including the part of the process where they buck you every 10 to 20 seconds, just like beefalo!
