Purple mushroom?

When you enter the cave you might find a purple mushroom and when you try to obtaining it and start Chopping it  Toadstool will spawn and the player will fight hin or run from him

I was wondering why when you kill him he doesn't give you the purple mushroom isn't the player fighting him for it?  It feels weird to me because when you find glow berry and try to obtaining it and find it's actually a creature named the Depths Worm you can run or you can kill him and when you kill him he give you the glowing berry but with Toadstool he doesn't give you the purple mushroom ?

They never had thought behind more than three four different mushroom variants. Unless they add reason behind killing toad besides lights and some hunger reduction I dunno what they could do by introducing purple shrooms that don't exist anywhere that's not toad.

Assuming Toad shrooms are magic, and they power him up so did the color purple bringing that power. Maxwell's quote on purple gem is purple brings great power (with most situational and weird tools that the crafting provides) apparently we don't know how to harness that power and toad is just imbued by it.

Maybe potions introduced through toad could exist, or more fungal magics.

Rambling aside tldr: Survivors don't know how to harvest that power and the power of purple in better and practical ways.

Ohh I love this and you got me thinking .. Three mushroom colours and moon shrooms so far in-game, alongside six gem colours + iridescent, so 7 gem colours and 4 shrooms exist already ..
So maybe Toadstool is holding back some mushroom-mixing earth magic?
-> So Purple, Yellow, Orange mushroom access could be each locked behind Reg Toadstool, Misery Toadstool, and new orange Toadstool

-> With a black/shadow shroom added:
--> Moon shroom + iridescent gem = Lunar Toadstool,
--> Dark shroom + dreadstone = Shadow Toadstool,

Make it like the homing 1-Up of death from that one SM64 hack. (There's also an Odyssey one where Cappy kills you.)

Once unleashed, have it pursue the nearest player relentlessly until it gets someone. It follows you out of the caves. Even if everyone manages to safely log out before it gets them, it just waits. First player to return gets control of their character just in time to watch it kill them. (AFW does the Bowser laugh.)

I'm not sure about the purple one, but the black-and-yellow one on Misery Toadstool could be an interesting way to kill the Great Depths Worm if we got the ability to farm it. I feel like that thing has to be super deadly to eat. Imagine if it did 150 damage and could be farmed in some sort of improved mushroom planter also dropped by Toadstool/Misery Toadstool - you could drop 25 on the ground to feed the Great Worm and it'd just die on the spot (although Klei would need to make it actually take damage from food it eats, because it seems not to currently with things like red caps).
