I don't think I've done anything worth mentioning. But I have a dream of stacking as many bosses as I can into one massive royal rumble. I think it should theoretically be possible to get Armored Bearger, Crystalized Deerclops, Possessed Varg, Bee Queen, Dragonfly, Twins of Terror and Celestial Champion all into one big brawl. Could swap Bee Queen for Klaus, might be funnier to have an enraged Klaus in that chaos.

You built a varg farm that produces kbphjillion teeth a second? You killed misery toadstool without chopping trees? You built the highest DPS machine utilizing 60 Winona catapults and 5 Wolfgangs?

No? I didn't think so. Still, share the most original/exaggerated thing you've ever done in this game.

ps: if you're not sure if what you've done fits this thread, it does.

My friend and I were exiting the ruins, when a splumonkey stole 1 piece of a Thulecite Wall from our Hutch, that I would use for decoration. That was the last straw.

We proceeded to kill every single monkey in existence and burn their houses, to make them pay for this transgression.

I am currently working on a “build” in my world to construct a very, well, large apiary.

How large, exactly? Well, I’m still working on it (without accounting I am currently in the process of redesigning it, and then doing it again when they adjusted placement hitboxes to allow beeboxes to be closer), but this is the current iteration of the farm I have at the moment:

(For anyone curious on numbers, there’s roughly around 1500 beeboxes in there)

Ninja Edit/bonus: figured I should throw in my bee queen setup, since I feel this may or may not fit into this category of overkill:

does it lag?..... imagine all 6000 bees outside at once...

Back when my OCD would get the best of me, not proud of it but I’ve got a lot better controlling it… This spanned to 4 different biomes and a couple more partially, completely covered in Wooden Flooring and Cobblestone because MAYBE, someday I would build something there, nothing could be out of this grid. This is on console by the way, back when Cobblestone needed Wooden Flooring to craft and it was a 1 to 1 ratio… yup…

I blew up 3 bosses at the same time with a massively unhealthy dosage of Kaboom (yes the game crashed afterwards)

But this isn’t the first time I’ve done this, I also gathered every propane tank I could find in the original Dead Island piled them up at a gas station, parked every car I could find there and then lured every zombie I could find to said gas station then blew up the gas canisters.

Spoiler Alert: it black screened the game not just for myself, but for everyone online that was playing.

In DST YOU can blow up 3 bosses at the same time too you just have to be careful, bring a wholllllllleeeee bunch of Kaboom & a Panflute to put them all to sleep near each other, laugh as the game struggles to register what’s going on. <3

I imagine this with "realistic" loot being scattered around xD

I do not ever go to the beebox zone outside of winter or dusk/night. The sheer amount of bees would easily slow the game to a crawl, but outside of that the performance isn’t really impacted much.

Had this happen on my servers and I was tired of having such cool looking farms far away from my base, so I made this mod

Oh huh!! This actually seems kinda handy, might pick it up myself.

Question, does this impact the behavior of harvesting beeboxes to spawn bees outside of winter? I normally like to harvest beeboxes in spring to make more of them since it releases 6 bees at once (apart from the fact that spring also has the longest dusk/night cycles to make this more feasible).

No, they still come out to attack you when you harvest the honey as usual. Same concept for burning them. No changes during winter.

It just triggers the normal offscreen production while on-screen. No further changes.

It even works with bee nice mod that makes them stay on the hive if you use a bee hat

I don't think this counts as it was done with console and not actual gameplay but:

10.000 sheepingtons, just for enjoying their little "määäh" sounds! (no, the world wasn't playable in a practical sense, :D)

Sadly a new try with even more sheepingtons made the game crash x3

Same thing happens to me, just in Turkish. I get bullied for it when it happens.

I'm not sure if my way of playing can be called "active" though since I still struggle with actually playing TOGETHER, and mostly STILL just use DST to play an extended non-permadeath ROG but with mods (and to test my modded Maxwell).

Apart from that, what I regularly do when for whatever reason starting a new world with the concept: "clean biomes" I regularly end up turning most of the main-island into what probably was the state it was in when Maxwell arrived there. (Although he probably didn't find a bunch of randomly scattered chests with loot standing around inside some barren wasteland for no apparent reason)

[doing this fits into my concept of "fun gameplay" and since I am save from permadeath in DST I usually can stick to doing so in comparison to permadeath singleplayer game worlds.]

not dst but one time in dont starve solo, i turned all the raid bosses to lots, which i believe makes them spawn every 7 days or so. i remember seeing it in a joeshmcoolstuff video... turns out it gets super easy once you get a ham bat

So after doing this i began calculating logistics of doing the same feat but using Durian. Which unfortunately seems far from feasible.

My self imposed Criteria for success is that the Bearger needs to squash giant Durian and then eat as much as is needed to successfully neutralize it. Warly only.

For that I need 2000 durian, whereupon I will need 50 farm plots, which is at least 250 Compost or 2000 rot.

The most pressing problems are:

 - Durian can only grow giant in spring; bearger will be drowsy by then. (Using shadow spray negates the crop yields so i cant spray and have the bear squash during Autumn. Thus the matter is if whether I am willing to also farm 2000 Beeswax...)

- Then of course there is the issue of tending and watering and fertilizing 50 plots at once, ensuring enough grow giant for a successful yield regardless of Rng. While i can spam rain via moslings and one man band the crops the fertilizing is tricky if i lose count (and dont use the Gardeneer hat mod).

 - If the Bear squashing and eating fiesta takes too long, the durians may spoil on the ground as they are fruits. Worse if it rains (which i will most likely be spamming as mentioned).

- im going to have so much durian after this ehehehe

i made miscalculations!

my initial calculations to utterly destroy bearger with giant durian were thus:

 - 6000 bearger health / 3 damage per durian eaten = 2000 durian total
 - which i then divided by 40 plants per tile resulting in 50 farm tiles.

HOWEVER!

i realized i was counting individual durians, not giant durians, so that's 2000 durian divided by 2.75 durians per giant durian = 727 giant durians!

thus resulting in 19 farm plots's worth. certainly more feasible and i'll even squeeze in the 20th farm plot for extra credit!

Now the final problem is "But GetNerfedon, how are you going to feed at least 727 giant durians to bearger? It's a spring crop and the Bearger spawns in Autumn, and is terrible to lead around in spring with the hibernation/yawn mechanic!"

To which I now have a plan - farm the 20 plots worth of durian at the last days of spring, and then feed them to Bearger when it wakes up during summer.
