what're you even talking about, it deals 60 damage with no cowl and 92.8 with cowl and max ramp

You lose 1.7 sanity even if it overheals.

i'mn't, i still think that it's useless if you'ren't going to play long term and most people seem to either mega base or not play long term

you need to use void cowl for max dps when using shadow axe

1 you didn’t say in specific scenario said it’s useless for any one who is not mega basing so this Includes

any person who went to play all the content of the game and explore

any person who is willing to kill all bosses without exceptions 

any person who only kills bosses that he enjoys to kill and think the mutant bosses are fun 

saying the bright shade is useless for any of those types of players is just wrong 

2  DST have a lot of options and thing while you are waiting do and the game is not only about killing bosses  and do u went to convince me that if u kill the champion in day 25 you don’t have any thing to do ? Even if u are the best player in the world there is no shot in day 25 you killed all bosses 

3 if you still think the bright shade is a useless weapon you are wrong because a lot of people use it and if u went to kill all bosses in the game it’s a useful on for the mutant bosses and if don’t went to kill all bosses and only one that u enjoy to fight that it’s ok but calling the weapon useless is just wrong

why day 25 specifically? where's that number from?

1 go back to page 1 you said that if u kill the champion in day 20 you will have to wait  and I was responding to your old point by saying even if u kill the champion in day 25 there is no why you killed all the bosses in that time 

2 did you even fight the mutant bosses ? Because that scythe can’t even stun the armoured B and the mutant V because 

3  what is that specific scenario in my first post I said that the time you will need to level it up and obtain it is not worth it because there is no boss that you will need a weapon like that I didn’t say there is no boss left to fight to because bosses like the mutant fighting them with the bright shade is batter and bosses like dragon fly are not worth it to level it and fight it because it’s a waste of time and the bright shade is cheaper and more useful

that was an example because you seemed to previously not understand that waiting for 15 days after killing CC doesn't mean literally waiting for day 15 not depending on CC

the point was that both'ren't worth the time if time matters for you

is absurd. 4 CC in a row while freezing half of the time (no thermal stone neither clothing), without having lower hp than 75% and kitting like shiet

the more i use the more i think i will ditch it because makes the game stupid and boring. I really dont get why people want even more regeneration, if was on me it would be as low as wigfrids. If klei keeps adding items like this we will need mobs as hard as fw to compensate such godmode feeling

Yeah, 4 more damage make it become "best" THEORETICALLY. But it not worth for most ppls.

By costing process shadow heart, killing 9 bosses and keep it avoiding reset its level, then we get only 4 more damage in end game. Is that good enough?

For the life stealing, blue mushroom gives same effect of 2:1 life/sanity conversion. In end game we have more better foods with 20x freshness. I don't know what use of 3.4 lifestealing per hit for most characters in end game.

1 in my first post I said that the effort that you need to put into the maul in not worth it then you said that both the bright shade and the maul are not worth it for your time unless you are mega basing but that is also wrong because if anybody went to try new content the bright shade and it's Armour set will help him in the cave and calling it useless is far from the truth 

2 I thought that the only way to stun them is by bright shade sword or bombs or stuff and didn't know that my bad

3 the maul doesn't because 4 dps doesn't worth the( effort)  you are putting but the bright shade is so cheap you are not putting any effort for it

Just yesterday I forgot to fix my Shadow maul again while fighting the boss.  I'm completely fed up with this weapon, despite all its flaws I still use it because it does a lot of damage when it's at maximum, and the Shadow Boomerang is so good and it needs to be matched with the void cowl like maul. Eventually I threw them all in a chest and used Brightshade equipment like howlitzer replace boomerang.

Do I need to remind you that wigfrid's regaining her sanity as well as her life in battle. With her battle song,  can even maintain top sanity with teammates during battles with FW.  For those fighting in the ruins, it only provides a weak recovery that they do not need and attracts more shadow monsters to fight

I will admit, there is one benefit I forgot that the maul has; losing so much sanity at a time could make it an MVP if Klei ever adds any more difficult areas that are pure enlightenment. I mean you could still just chug green mushrooms but eh, at least it's possibly, maybe, something that might be useful in the future?

At first I thought this weapon works similar to Wortox. But the important difference is the maul can feed on nightmare creatures or clockworks. The maul drops sanity constantly, and the nightmare creatures spawned will be killed to fill its hunger. You don't need to worry about its hunger nor your health whatever you're fighting with.

The 4 more damage than shadow reaper also makes big difference. Because you can kill crawling horror or terrorbeak with one less hit.

Shadow reaper with void cowl deals 296 damage with 4 hits and 380 damage with 5 hits. On the other hand the level 4 shadow maul with cowl deals 312 damage with 4 hits and 400 damage with 5 hits. Just enough amount to kill nightmares without any damage modifiers. Consider you'll have to kill numerous amount of nightmares with this weapon, the 4 more damage is crucial than it seems.

Basically this weapon makes you an unstoppable killing machine if you have enough repair kits. Dying is hard with this weapon if there's anything to fight. The only buff I want to see for this weapon is an way to manage its hunger without bundling wrap or killing something. Like feeding rare materials to the maul or chopping down the trees to feed it.

I forgot that  bundling wrap this item can stop its hunger this is so batter in my eyes now if u have the dreadstone Armour equipped  and eat one jelly beans you can fight for ever and because the maul lowers your sanity the dreadstone Armour will repair it self and with set of Armour like the void set you can repair it with the repair kit and fight for long periods of times the only problem that the nightmare that will you have to deal with
