I get that it's cool, but that seems like a lot of work for extra beefalo lives, I understand the possessed atrium cost for the maul and the saddle because of power creep, but a one time consumable which would just be nice QOL seems a bit much.

At this point I'm wondering if taming a new beef would be faster. it's not like you're loosing the saddle when the beef dies. Meh, we'll see.

I dont see it as QoL when you are tradding something that takes a little of work to prevent needing to do a lot of work until you get an infinity weapon+meat shield+transportation which mechanically remove certain downsides of many characters (wendy, wormwood, maxwell, walter, warly..) while allows maxwell to get max power in his minions without losing his own dps (being able to hold thurible)

I think it is totally balanced to ask for a shadow heart

Just for clarification, do you mean it would be balanced with a normal shadow atrium or a possessed one?

They weren't renewable which meant that you cannot kill fuelweaver if somehow someone takes all of them. This is specially doable considering they aren't key items (not dropped when disconnecting / leaving caves, can be burnt on a dragonfly furnace / eaten by a lureplant)

However... Isn't the great depth worm rift content? Which means you need to kill AFW lol

Before Klei modified the fossils I would clear the caves to get all the bones. I would get over 100 fossils. It's impossible to lose them all in normal gameplay, especially since it will only make sense to collect 8 and the rest will remain intact in the caves.

imo its kinda sad how this update doesn't really add anything to the rest of the caves like they promised, but ONLY more to the ruins and more annoyances around caves T_T

They only promised shadow sided content for the caves.

*Adds new cool rifts threat!

*Makes it irrelevant with pre-rift mount

It's a bug even if it's intended!!!

It is kind of not a threat but an annoyance
the goal of it is to block your path while walking around
Ideally it should slow down beefalo

in normal gameplay

Yeah, but it'd be dumb to make a key item in progression not renewable, even if you normally wouldn't run out of them.

It was the same for cactus when you needed flowers for pearl's house.

Changes

  • Added sanity aura to Icker.
  • Icker spawns will go on a cooldown for that area after defeating them all there.
  • Lurking Nightmare is now a pre-rifts shadow creature, getting stronger during rifts.
  • Mimicreeps are no longer considered thralls.
  • A group of Ink Blight Rictus will now sometimes replace the Ink Blight trio spawns.
    • Removed the temporary spawning of Ink Blight Rictus from Spilagmites.
  • Added minimap icon for Spelunker’s Bridge.
  • Ornery Chests now spawn in the Labyrinth if it is reset while a Shadow Rift is open.
  • The Beefalo Gloom Bell, Nightmare Saddle, and Shadow Maul now require a Possessed Shadow Atrium to be crafted.
  • Added Moon Glass Saw Blade, an upgraded Sawhorse blade that unlocks stone furniture crafting recipes when placed on a Sawhorse.
  • The Sawhorse now has bulk crafting recipes for Boards and Cut Stone. This has replaced its existing Logs refining feature.
  • The Sawhorse now has a crafting station filter.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Royal Rabbit Enforcer image in the Scrapbook having too many ears.
  • Fixed a crash with picking up items that were flagged to be not pickupable.
  • Fixed Spelunker’s Bridges not being protected entirely if they were partially under cover of a Support Pillar.
  • Fixed Warren Wreath generating extra loot on spoiling.
  • Fixed Woodie and Willow skills self supporting themselves when unlocked.
  • Icker no longer drops loot when despawned by the world. (Suspended items will still drop.)

With these changes I think the glom bell should not be destroyed and instead just have a 5 day cooldown for reviving beefalos because with how expensive the heart requiring a fw kill and shadow pieces.it takes only 20 days to tame a beefalo 15 with a brush it’s was already a pretty bad trade off to begin with now with this change I don’t see anyone using the bell.so klei please consider this.

I get what your coming from, but playing the game long enough removes the downsides of characters. Weapons and armor post rift are infinite. They don't break and require almost nothing to repair. This includes the shadow maul. None of which take 20 days to craft or repair. However having the ability to fix a mistake that would cost you a significant amount of time to recover from is QoL. Sure it might need to be refilled i.e. with dread stone or pure horror or have a cooldown, but having to get a new atrium each time is a bit much.

You can fight multiple chess pieces and accelerate new moons via wickerbottom

Isnt like your beefalo dies every 5 days...

I did played this franchise for over 9 years and +5k hours, i still care about downsides. Isnt like i die because of them but i think there are a key feature to make every run unique and fun. Justifying everything that negates key parts of the franchise because veterans exists is a good enough argument imo

I dont have much to say about possessed ones since i didn't experimented with them. For what i read...klei should really think twice about how they implemented the way to adquire them

Also i dont see why we have them

you use wicker for this? I just kill cc at the right moment to make a whole day eternal night, Is there something I'm not understanding about the lunar book? I was under the impression that it just forced full moons not new moons.

the moon cycle goes new moon -> wait for 10 days -> full moon -> wait for 10 days -> new moon -> wait for 10 days -> full moon -> wait for 10 days -> loop, so you can e.g. use moon book on day 5 to get a new moon on day 15 instead of 21 without needing to kill CC

If you use the moon book after the new moon you are accelerating the cycle because you dont have to wait until the moon gets full so it starts shrinking

Basically new moons every 11 days for those who apparently needs beef revives every <20 days

have you tried placing them on the floor systematic? stackin all the axe and other tools next to each other? it takes alot more space and time to check every chest for a tool you need right now then just pickin them up from the floor, i mean i never said i leave materials on the floor, i place chests next to the alchemy engine to place the things in there, but tools for easy accress on the floor, too many times in random puplic servers do i see duplicateds of tools because no one uses the tools from the chests and it just piles up

You don't get it, it's not me, it's the other half of friends and community. I learned by then that the playerbase of don't starve when maintaining bases are divided in only 2 groups: schizophrenic adhd people that organize, clean and categorize everything or completely hobos that treat their base as a dump. It's useless placing systematic, if the hobos will place other new tools at the ground. That's why a lot of my people blindly have tools chest thoughtlessly, especially made with dragonfly chest. It's not a lot of chest, just some, because we try to not have useless duplicates and break every single one of them

EXACTLYYYYY, hahahaha. It's not public servers, it's everywhere!

I was hoping that the glom bell would allow me to use Life Giving Amulet or Telltale Heart for Beefalo, given their lack of late access, And the Beefalo's animated revival.
