His downside is getting hungry fast, which is SO ez to negate, and higher sanity drain from night. But being insane is always a good thing. You’re always gonna need nightmare fuel. People argue WX is better, but I say ABSOLUTELY NOT. A character that can see in the dark, vs a character THAT CAN OBLITERATE BOSSES ON DAY 2! Ppl say Wilson is good, ALL HE DOES IS GROW A BEARD! WOLFGANG CAN GET UP TO 17x DAMAGE ON DAY 28! So just listen ppl. Wolf is best. There's no BEST character cmon pros and cons are everywhere, each character is good at something. Mike23Ua Posted June 23, 2024 Share Posted June 23, 2024 Best character is Warbucks, obviously… he’s the only character in the Dont Starve franchise that not even the developers at Klei want to acknowledge once existed, he has somehow managed to be Retconned from the Klei record books, so obviously he’s been to & escaped (or took over??) the constant. Wolfgang may be able to punch with 2x Damage but he’s still trapped in the Constant with everyone else. I avoid combat as much as possible because it is the worst part of the game by far. But I will stick to my Wormwood, fishing, farming, and just making the world look nice and full of life. Granted that life are plants, Saladmanders, Lightbugs, Carrats, more plants, and some plants. Lovens Posted June 23, 2024 Share Posted June 23, 2024 I can't stand Wolfgang because of another downside nobody mentions: he is such a wimp that downgrading to a different form will stagger him and interrupt whatever you were doing before. Running from a horde of splumonkeys during the nightmare phase? Lol too bad, gonna stop for a second and get locked into the form downgrade animation. Reeling the last heavy fish for Pearl's pearl during CC rush mere moments before dusk? Too bad, let's change the form, interrupt reeling, lose both the fish and the lure, and watch Pearl go back home without giving you the pearl. He's so whiny about changing forms it's unbearable. Screw him. Chad Wanda never gets staggered during her age change animation and does great damage as well. Not to mention her amazing utility in setting up teleport chains for repeat boss farming. By the time Wolfgang travels to the boss location Wanda has already finished killing it and moved onto the next target.
