I don't really like either old Wolfgang or new Wolfgang. Neither character is all that interesting. Both are strong characters, but I just don't have all that much fun with them. I would say that the new Wolfgang is stronger especially with the skill tree. Don't Starve Together 2024.06.24 - 17.09.44.01.mp4 155.71 MB · 0 downloads The animation being cancellable would be better but if they really want to stick to it then going mighty could start at 75 and losing mighty state at 60 then it would make situations like this happen less. Just example numbers. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/156815-i-miss-old-wolfgang/page/3/#findComment-1729154 Share on other sites

Just example numbers. Yep, this is one of the better (and simpler) solutions I've heard, as well. Other ideas: Cooldown between transforms: If you become mighty, you have a small grace period before you can return to normal. Actions don't promote tiers: So you can gain mightiness by doing things like fighting/chopping/pitchforking, but it would cap at the point where you'd normally transform. This way you can opt in to the stun effect by switching to the dumbbell. Thats fair, wolfgangs whole point is to simplify combat by being strong in both offence and defence, other characters can out dps him but take much more investment and setup, if combat is not an issue for you or you enjoy a more complex and rewarding character then you probably arent interested in his main benefits. What was the point of Introducing Rifts and Planar mechanics to nerf combat characters and make their damage more comparable to everyone else. And then three months later introducing skill trees to make everyone a combat character and negate the damage loss that rifts and Planar Mechanics imposed on existing combat characters? I dunno about you. But those two things feel reaaaal contradictory to me. They are just nerfing volt goat jelly and adding weapons and armor progression without making the previous content absurdly easier like in terraria-like sandboxes I dont agree in the way they added and balanced it but atleast im happy with them not adding 300 damage weapons just to throw them to the rubbish when you unlock 500 damage weapons... im happy that atleast one sandbox wants to have an unique and creative balance instead of the rotten and unispired "recolor a weapon and give it higher numbers so people can one shot early bosses" kind of mechanics Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/156815-i-miss-old-wolfgang/page/3/#findComment-1729563 Share on other sites
HowlVoid
Remember when he was nerfed because "other characters needed to shine" or something. How he was too strong. And yet here we are with skill trees His speed was "too much" But teleporting is ok I guess #givewolfganghisspeedback Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/156815-i-miss-old-wolfgang/page/3/#findComment-1729570 Share on other sites

You kill hounds, depth worms and spider more easily? At that point you are probably more interested in farming low-health creatures. And killing depth worm waves easier is just nice in the late game because it’s a forced encounter. Raid bosses already have ridiculous health pools. So maybe an intermediate player can go from killing raid bosses in groups to doing them solo. Makes sense: more independence in the late game. Pre-rift there were plenty of side-grade weapons: not a lot of weapons were flat out better than the dark sword damage output. And that was nice game design. But now they’ve go for the power upgrade in a weird way which still doesn’t make sense to me.
