3 characters who can easily teleport across the map now. Telelocator is in a weird spot

Recommended Posts

It just seems kinda odd at this point. Winona's stuff is cool, but her teleporter feels weird and cliché.

They can buff the telelocator staff since it is extremely weak and gimmicky compared to these three other transport methods. Yeah it can teleport mobs but other than that it feels outclassed.

Having more options to teleport dont make it useless, you can use it along with the other methods...

Is like in DS single player, i had wagstaff's TP for certain places and telelocator for others so i could access more spots since they dont overlap

In dst i love to use it in my oasis base to teleport back to the centet of the map and vice-versa.  Saves me a lot of time even with a speedy beefalo

In Ds single player hamlet makes purple gems cheaper than flint though.

They can at least make it consume 1 purple gem instead of 3.

They showed a gem tree on the stream afaik, wonder if there will be purple gem fruit variants too

The fruits were red but i think that's just how the fruits look. It might be a stone fruit situation where you crack the fruit and get the gems like that. Maybe the gems chance depends on it's rarity?

Oh yeah. But regardless they can and probably should still make it cheaper.

Are purple gems expensive in dst with ruins regenerating, stalagmites and hot spring dropping blue and red gems, varg farms, etc?

Telelocator will still be good for moving mobs. You can teleport the entire bearger with a little bit of forethought. Doubt you can do that with wanda's teleport nor winona's future teleport. once I telelocated grass geckos over 3 biomes to a single pen.

telelocator is in a terrible spot and has many things that try to limit it for some reason

not building them in boats

staff recipe is too expensive for only 5 uses

i dont mind the gem cost, amassing gems is easy in lategame and i think that is what the item should be, a lategame thing

Purple gems aren't expensive per se. It's not hard to build *a* moderate stockpile of them. The problem is that Telelocators are *obscenely* expensive to use. They cost  3.4 gems to use once between the 3 gem fuel cost and the 2 gems you use to make the 5 durability staff. So even if you're not using purple gems for anything else; which is likely unless you're playing Winona or Wanda; using the Telelocator more than once or twice will eat through your purple gems faster than WX can rush the ruins. Meaning Varg Farms are the only practical way to use it, which really only helps in long-term worlds.

We have beefalos.  We dont need, neither is good for the game, a way to totally ignore walking by teleporting more than 10 times per in game year which is rough the ammount of teleportations you can do by just cleaning the ruins once per year

In addition to these, one thing I would really like to see is if on the map you can indicate which focus is charged or not. Would be a really nice QOL improvement to avoid using a staff and accidently teleport to an activated focus you were using to teleport koalaphents….

Its in a very odd spot.

On one hand they're useful for teleporting mobs, getting back very fast..

But on the other hand they only teleport yourself so if you have multiple people trying to use it you'd have to refill for each person, but that's me just cherrypicking, and obviously you'd use the multi-player focused version.

You can't teleport to a specific one without having 1st went to the focus, and placing 3 or removing the 3rd gem on it so you only save the trip back to the place.

Can't be used in Caves, or Boat.

It definitely needs some love.

Maybe after use it leaves a portal similar to Wanda's so other players can actually use it, you know, Together! Or upon use it has a delay before the gems are consumed giving us extra time to teleport more players, or multiple nearby mobs.

Maybe we can pick and choose which focus we'd wanna teleport to so I can actually put the 3rd gem on instead of leaving it with 2, and fighting the OCD.

I'm not really worried about cost, but I'm all for it being cheaper.
