As a console player I will just say THANK YOU KLEI

you made me happy as a :yaypigs:

because the controller problems we have been complaining for years are finally being addressed.

A bit more love for console players, and the game will be as good as on PC (vanilla obviously).

If you want my suggestion on what controller improvements to work next:

A better building with controller QoL update. Doest have to be as good as geometric placement mod, I would be more than happy with just a 'snap to grid' kind of feature or behavior when building or planting.

Me and my OCD are even willing to buy this as a DLC ir a skin pack :-D

...

Too bad about the lure plants and fw ... But I'm hoping the controller improvements will make up for that and finally allow me to kill fw legit.

Yes please! I love this game so much but I am so jealous of pc players having geometric placement. It’s seriously my one single wish for the game.

The slippery ice amuses me very much. Exactly my kind of change

the dragonfly furnace cannot destroy ocean fishing rods. I cant tell whether this is intentional. Finding the ocean fishing rod loot from sunken chests the first time, i say "sure, i will take a spare." Any more, and i will throw them away. Today I got the ocean fishing rod loot from a sunken chest and i reimplemented my lureplant garbage can as a result.

The turf raiser helm and the ocean fishing rod are both items with slots to take in other items (turf and floats/lures) and the turf raised helm also doesnt fit inside the scaled furnace when i tested it. Which makes me somehow wonder if this is intentional? Or maybe it is a bug?

Speaking of the ocean, I really enjoy its changes in this update. I can comfortably acquire and store broken shells to repair my boat bumpers when they take dsmage.

the convenience of barnacles from rockjaws is good. Today some rockjaws also delivered me the extra ingredients needed to make two thermal stones, when summer started after i set sail and i forgot to bring any for alternating in my boat's ice box. (Maybe i will find the rockjaw changes less useful when i am playing as a character who isnt maxwell and i can no longer prevent them from swimming away)

When trading with pearl, 3 fish foods for one bottle will come in handy next time i start a new world and i have to restart my hoard of scorching sunfish :encouragement:

You can call me a bit late to the party but I’ve had a lot going on here at my house lately, I had one of my sisters online friends pay near on 1,500$ to fly halfway across the world to come spend a few weeks here at our house.

During this time I managed to convince her friend to play DST with me on their last night here, so yesterday I got someone who had never played DST to try DST & during this time, we encountered the new update biome for the scrapyard, this was exciting for both him and me because it was my first time seeing this Biome as Well!

He only got to experience the early game stages of the biome (so no boss fight)

But from a New players perspective, and for myself who had yet to experience it, this content was an enjoyable surprise for both of us. I won’t spoil what happens here…

But let me just say that rummaging through junkyard scrap was a neat little experience.

Normally I’d have my experienced players hat on telling them “don’t do this, don’t walk near that, don’t stand over those bubbling areas in the swamp..” etc etc but when we BOTH experienced something new together, it felt quite good.

I just wanted to point out that as “Early Game” beginner friendly content, this was a fun little distraction, my one and only complaint about it, is that it should’ve been a much bigger biome to explore instead of being a small boss fight arena for a boss battle we had yet to activate.

It's not a biome, it's supposed to be small, it IS a small boss fight arena for a boss battle you had yet to activate.

I’m aware of that, but fighting bosses in this game are beyond boring.. what was fun however for my brand new to the game friend, was interacting with the scrap piles to obtain resources they would ACTUALLY NEED early game (most namely gears & electric doodads)

was it more fun for you to hold space bar near piles in comparison to fighting things?

I swear to god some of you guys have played this game so eternally long that your mind goes blank even trying to remember what it was like playing this game as a newbie..

So let me simplify it- This kids running around without armor, using an Axe as a Weapon, and every time he dies… portions of his health bar become blackened out and he doesn’t yet know how to recover that.

You really want this kid to fight a boss he doesn’t even know how to summon part 1 of yet? Let alone part 2??

I think Klei adding small mobs that CAN be fought off with that Axe he’s swinging and no armor on at all for early game players was a fun experience for them.

So I applause Klei’s effort to not leave this as being exclusively some late game boss fight.

I remember just fine, no blankness here. My experience was different from yours, back then too.

Is this the same 'Kid' that purchased a flight for 1,500$? Get real Michael.
