Characters even have unique quotes for when greifers grief.

They are an intended.

Ya know.. I don’t mean to encourage ANYONE to go around greifing others, but you do have a very valid point… characters have quotes for when people do it, the developers clearly intended (or at least was highly aware..) that players COULD do it.

Im certain this topic won’t get much further than this, but anyways that’s actually something.. something you made me sit & think about.

Why are people so obsessed with griefers? Are they really that common?

Play pubs. Mark your camp with a Moonlens/Celestial Orb. Count the minutes till your base is "very well done".

Only cool people grief

Yes, people with cool ... issues "in the upper floors". The very ones who pick nose with fork and try to get the pickle from jar with their mouth. Nice chaps, they lighten up the atmosphere at parties when they set your parrot on fire by the power of sturdy farts and a match ...between the cheeks. Those cheeks. Fun times.

Griefing is a core mechanic of the game. And it's intended. In fact there should be a speedrun category made for griefing public servers. Requirements would be destroying or burning atleast 10 structures. But different requirements categories can be made like stealing, Waterbalooning Wx, killing glommer, beefalo extinction etc.

Greifing does not make anyone a bad person- they are an intended survival mechanic doing their job. Greifer's must be appreciated. (Klei needs to do a greifer update where they add jack hammers)

I think I remember reading that the inspect quotes were added on community feedback to address some issues. It doesn't do much other than help a casual host verify who burned base.

Strike out on your own or “take your chances with strangers” online.

I mean it’s literally in the product description.. that said, It’s Easy to be prepared for Griefers because in most cases you can Prototype (but not yet place down) most structures.

So when you can toss out a full blown base like Pokémon from a Pokeball your kinda.. Griefer Proof.

Unless well- You build massive map sprawling bases, and in that case: Maybe you shouldn’t be letting strangers you don’t know or can trust, join and potentially wreck all your hardwork? ;)

This is such a funny idea

They are so cool and rebellous.

I noticed a considerable increase in griefers after the "An Eye for An Eye" update and many Terraria players joined. But I believe that after a while it stabilized and returned to a "normal" quantity, especially in pubs

I’m having non-existent flashbacks from after the crossover when some people tried DST and said:
“No way they stole Deerclops from Terraria too”

Also can we have the option to dash with the Shield of Terror pretty please? I mean we have Wigfrid with the Elding Spear but it’s only tied to her at the moment which makes sense but it doesn’t mean that we can’t have other weapons with a similar dash ability. The Shield of Terror’s dash can be a little shorter ranged or something, but I just find it fun to dash around with Wigfrid’s spear so much that it just seems like a missed opportunity to not add it.

I think the Shield of Terror would make more sense if it had the same power as the Battle Rond, instead of the spear. But yes, it would be cool to have the dash on some other item!

Mmmm no, dash makes more sense. In terraria the shield gives you a dash. Should be worse, have a bigger cooldown or maybe uses durability.

@-Variant On an unrelated note, do you have a headcanon voice for Willow, if don't count the one in the "Inevitable" video?

Honestly, I think Inevitable's Willow VA nails it. More than the Winters feast one, I feel. I'd be 100% fine if that was her voice in any other/future media going forward.

Otherwise something light and playful, I always imagined her with a Harley Quinn type voice. Maybe not as strong of an accent, though.

And... even though I'm almost dead certain it wouldn't make since I like to project a bit of myself onto her and imagine her with the slightest, faintest hint of a British accent. Very, very feint, though. For literally no reason.

Intentionally ruining someone else's day definitely makes you a bad person, the kind that begins with "a" and ends with "ole". As does defending this kind of behavior, even as a joke, because it's very likely someone will take it seriously and use as an excuse to not feel guilty. I hope this is just bait, but either way, I think mods should lock this post.
