Who do you play the most?

Wilson for aesthetics, but also because I like to play without powerful fantasy perks. Not in the sense that I'm super pro, but in the sense that I like the world of Don't Starve as it is. I don't need special character interactions to enjoy my time playing.

Wes can use pigmen for wood farming and gunpowder/stonefruit for rocks during the first year, the only thing he needs to mine for is nitre (and unless you plan on killing bosses with gunpowder you don’t need that much). You can skip gunpowder and use snurtle slime instead.

After the first year, Bearger and a lazy forager solve most of his problems anyway. 

Wes needs to use a beefalo to solve his ugly damage and hp most of the early/mid game, until he can obtain planar damage weapons. His non-beefalo damage becomes mostly average at that point.

I answered Maxwell since I play him a lot now but on public servers I often pick Woodie (cause I join late and he's good in investigation as goose) or Wickerbottom on PvP servers since she has sleepy stories.

 

But personally Maxwell is the most suitable for me character both DS and DST. His sanity control allows to almost forget about nighmare creatures and even feel good when Ifo insane, he's okay eating raw meat so I an hunt and ignore bases, he collects resources without need to have tool + overall has larger inventory, and in case of most dangers his magic helps a lot.

Against most non-boss enemies Wes will kill things with a dark sword in the same hits anyone else will with anything at least as strong as a tentacle spike. He also often gets better durability on the dark sword than others, as well.

Against bosses though yeah he needs something like a beefalo if you don't want to spend a third more time fighting.

Rooks can break a lot of ruins statues and a pick/axe makes the ruins trip not as bad.
I mean, obviously if you value megabasing or mass gathering things from start you’d do better as Maxwell/Wurt/Woodie/Warly.

I’m just saying that there are alternative routes he can take that in the grand scheme of things don’t make him much slower than the rest.

I enjoy combat and supporting my team with her songs/helmets playing as wigfrid It suits my style

I main wigfrid but she's not my favorite experimenting with other characters helps me approach bosses differently with the charcters I play as and not rely on one characters specialty such as wigfrid slight health/sanity regen as a example plus if I can beat any boss as a different character I feel confident knowing that I'm capable of doing it 

Wurt is my favorite she's too adorable and innocent followed by wendy I like her personality/story and finally wormwood his quotes for items are hilarious

i want to say it's because he's charming and offers the ""purest"" way to experience new content

but in truth i've just gotten so used to him that playing anyone else feels weird at this point

i'm a solo player, if that makes any difference

my favourite are wormwood and warly. Interesting upsides and the bests downsides in the character pool

also wormwood is so beautiful, most of his skins are gorgeous. i wish i can say the same about warly, his skins are kinda bland

Wickerbottom used to be my most played character but I was playing DST much less when it was in the beta (2014-2015) and now Wanda is my most played character.

I like Wickerbottom's personality the most but DST without teleporting gets pretty boring for me and I can't turn back. I should also mention that alarming clock is a very unique weapon that makes solo experience much more enjoyable for me.

I used to play Wigfrid a lot on pubs, especially klei official servers because I didn't want to have to fight for pig skin or hammer a lot of pig houses. This was also before I started to do ruins rush so often and ruins take too much of your time if you are only going to play for like 20 days.

As a solo player probably Wilson.

I say it a lot but he immerses me more than anyone else. He grows a beard. He doesn't feel over-powered and feels like a character that would use his wits to survive rather than some kind of special powers. He also seems like the curious type that would actually be interested in exploring the world and unlocking its secrets. You can't really say the same about many other characters. What motivation would Wolfgang have for unlocking the secrets of lunar island/ruins/archives? lol

I like Walter for the same reasons.
