To Be Honest, I'm quite intrigued as to why the plan is that they can't speak on the roadmap until they get this conclusion out. It's giving me the idea that something about how this ends is going to be a swerve and that even mentioning something about what comes after could give something away if they tried to talk about it.

If I had to guess when the beta would drop, I feel like late May to early June would be a good bet. MAYBE mid May if we get super lucky, but I doubt we'll see anything drop next week.

Hopefully soon since the only non 2024 update dropped this year has been Year of the depth worm and it's been almost 5 months. Idk if there promise of the last update not counting as a 2025 update will still stand.

It could also be that they don't know how many updates they can do this year and don't want to show a roadmap they can't complete.

You are being far too optimistic, the more likely reason we didn’t get a roadmap is because there’s not much to reveal.

I love Klei I do, but the quality and effort they put into their game has dwindled over time, and in my opinion NONE of the Updates they have done since 2019 has come close to the size and quality of the very very first Return of Them update (the one that added a sailable ocean, an island with its own resources and mobs, and it’s own island exclusive weather effect)

Everything after that has felt “bite-sized”

Maybe is just because they are preparing a new mechanic or something akin that will need future development like how they couldn't talk about the skill trees road map until they released Wilson's skill tree

Where did they post it?

the april fools post(it counts as an hotfix release) where they talked about how wilson would look like without his beard as a joke and talked about the skins they were giving(the disguise and the hat) but THEN they wrote down these mysterious things in a goofy way; a mystical book, a prankster and something about balloons. So Im %99 sure its going to be about maxwell webber and wes's skill trees. I really dont know whats going on with klei right now, Im just trying to follow the lead with that post. (also it was AFTER the no roadmap post) so Im sure.

As for WHY they're not showing us a roadmap is because (probably) they're planning 2 GIANT updates to follow up instead. Being negative will get us nowhere and they spoke about how this is REALLY important to dst's story so my guess is they're gonna try to wrap up everything. NOW, I dont know WHY they're trying to do something like this(or close it) in SUCH A SHORT TIMEFRAME???? but there's gotta be a really good reason for this right? Otherwise I give up:wilson_cry:

Thank you for reply. Also if they really bring Wes skill tree I might actually play him lol. And I'm hoping that you are right about webber I really want to play as him with skill tree :)

That's crazy; I feel very differently. For me, the Reap what you Sow update was probably the biggest game changer for how i play DST; but i feel like a lot of the other updates have been pretty big too;

Forgotten knoweldge and the moonstorms/lunar quest too. Realistically all 2019-2022, as I always stated, the golden age in general for DST.

Spoiler

Btw Reap what you Sow is their magnus opus.

The downfall started on 2023 with skill-trees, rifts and scrapbook/things they promised us were for new players (when only 1 succed it and it's not scrapbook....)

At the same time we can't reasonably throw shade on 2024 with the first ocean update rework and the first sandwich-size cave update rework with a tint of ruins gaslight.

Yes. Ocean, Caves and Ruins needs more, like seven, eight or nine of these, but it's a start. A start that nobody, no old-heads like me, could ever believe it would have happened.

And I'm glad that very rarely, very rarely, Klei proves me wrong.

According to my hastily cobbled together calculations, there's a 50 percent chance it's this coming Thursday. The other 50 percent is probably either the next thursday or later.

May (Present Day)

?? Weeks

Feb. 28. 2025: Wendy, Wortox, Walter Skill Tree

11 Weeks

March 7th. 2024: Scrappy Scavengers

11 Weeks

December. 19th. 2023: Willow,Wigfrid Skill Tree

I know that we all love to speculate, but I think Klei should take their time. They deserve to push out good updates and get praise for them.

i would if they havent say they will tie up the story arc in TWO updates before September, they set a deadline themselves

Out of desperation to procrastinate i counted the exact days between the last former update (wendy, wortox, walter skilltrees) and the last intermission when we were told the team was roughly half way thro development before official release.

27th of febreuary to the 17th of april, 50 days, if we take things literally just for the sake of round beautiful numbers, lets say it takes other 50 days for the official release since the intermission, which will fall on the 7th of june, saturday.

So hipothetically yet plausably we could pin point the release date on the first two weeks of june. And knowing we are going to get a couple of weeks of beta, that means that, on the account the official release does happen on the stimated date, the beta will drop between the last two weeks of may.

This makes sense even in the general picture, as if next update also takes 100 days rougly, it will drop mid september.

So personally i will start expecting news next week, thank you and goodnight

I don't mind getting the update 2 weeks into june honestly. I think Klei was going to release an update at the start of april after last year's skill trees, but they decided to mix it together with the upcoming one, saving an animated short + new titles and drops and login bonuses (That's probably why we got almost 3 login bonuses but no twitch drops, one was supposed to be a drop).

Now they're planning to release this next update (which was supposed to be april fools one) alongside the July one because of the wendy/wortox/walter incident.

can you enlighten me please?

The extended beta time probably made the update after that harder to finish, so they decided to release it together with june's one, but that's just an assumption because we got 3 login bonuses and no twitch drops.
