Open discussion: Best sailing mod you've played and potential application into base game

Recommended Posts

I've seen mods flying around like different shaped boats, actual engines and steering that utilized the rudder kit's mechanics.

What are you favorites and what are the most fun?

Even if you have no experience with this, what would you like to see in sailing?

I try to give it a chance and I almost enjoy myself, but it's just very non productive. Sure, early game, having it be rudimentary has a purpose, but later on, it's simply not worth doing

Even with sailing rebalance which makes it barely bearable it still doesn't compare to sailing in shipwrecked :(

I LOVE COOKIE BOATS! ALL MY HOMIES LOVE COOKIE BOATS! SHIPWRECKED IS JUST WALKING ON WATER!...

That's why it's good, right.

I miss Shipwrecked being the only ocean based thing we had for the franchise.

Hamlet also had boats didn't it?

Your point?

Sailing in ham is a copy-paste of sw sailing. Except that instead of map-wide ocean, you have a small lake

I meant that shipwrecked was the only real world based around sailing from point A to B, hamlet has sailing but it's very small-scale.

As has been mentioned, Sailing Rebalance does a ton of leg work to make the ocean actually viable. It's effectively an "always enable" for me.

Uncompromising Mode has all of SR's changes baked in, along with a few more additions aswell, such as Sea Sludge and Rockjaw Hide, along with all the items made with those resources.

Though my personal favorite ocean mod would probably be Unlockable Sunken Chest. An incredibly simple mod; but an effective one none the less.
