Few Wurt Skill Tree Ideas

I am just giving a few rather than a full one but i might make a full one if i feel like it.

The 1. Thing i want in the world is to make the merm kingdom feel like a Merm kingdom.

There is just the king and merm guards, nothing else related. We need fishermerms, We need more Important Wurt Exclusive structures for her merm city, i will give a few ideas on this:

 

Declair-mermtion Station:

▪This is a structure that can be built, you make if anywhere, but you will probably want it near  Merms.  They can hold 3 Doctorines.

▪Wurt is able to declare and craft Doctrines. Each one has a unique cost, but each one always includes 3 Durians and 3 pig skin.

▪You may put a Doctrine in a Declair-mermtion station, and all Merm buildings, and the Merms that live those houses (They keep the buff even when far away from those houses) will gain those buffs. I am not sure if this should be global or work in a radius i am not sure what is better, you may suggest ideas or improvments.

▪Some Doctorines may give merm's a special ability, make them better at something or buff any new Wurt structures.

 

Also add fishermerms please.

 

Edit: I like the idea of Wurt somewhat being able to automate things in a don't starve balanced way, i made a few ideas below in the comments, and you could share some too.

More buildings for the kingdom - that's what we really need!

For me, Wurt is the most important character in the game, I've been dreaming about the merm character since the single "don't starve". therefore , a good skill tree for her is a matter of honor . her tree shouldn't take away her flaws (they diversify the game very much) it should help her abilities and the merms to further emphasize that she is a merm, and that she wants her cevelization to flourish. I will think over her tree well for now and while I have an idea for a branch that I came up with a long time ago, a branch of a thorn of a tentacle, merma fight with tentacles all their lives and should know about them like no one else: wurt spends less than the endurance of the tentacle spike, then she spends half the endurance of the tentacle spike (for Wurt it will not be 100, but 200) and 1 final branch ability: the tentacle spike in Wurt's hands periodically deals additional damage, as it was done in terraria. 2 Final Branch Ability: The Meme King will sometimes give you a tentacle spike as a reward for fish. this branch will make her a master in spikes, and the ability will help in the battle at the beginning of the game until you accumulate an army of merm, and I think even then it will not lose relevance

That sounds nice. I almost want Wurt to feel like she is making a medieval kingdom rather than some place filled with random houses.

I understand what you mean, I want derkvo Wurt to go two ways: her personal branch, and also so the branch of the mermaid people. There are 2 ideas that can be added to the second branch. farmhouses: they could plant seeds and maybe water them sometimes. 

And also the opportunity to build a monument (maybe a monument to The Gorge?? In memory of the almost forgotten deity), mermaids could sometimes sit around him with their eyes closed. This monument will increase the period of pacification of mermaids, and the stomach of the king will increase slightly

If they were to add an automation character, it should be wurt and i agree completly and i love it.

Anyway a few ideas for merm-automation:

The Scavenger Hideout: Only one may exist per shard. They automatically forage and collect items- they do not physically, they just run away, despawn, and return a few days later to put what he found (A predetermined loot table depending on some factors) in a chest at the hideout. You pay him a fish to gl on a scavanger hunt to find resources, the heavier and better the fish, the longer he will scavenge and the better rewards he will bring back. A freshwater fish will make him scavange for 1/4th a day for a few basic resources you will forage, like grass, berries, seeds, twigs kelp ect, but something as good as a lion fish makes him scavange for 2 days for things of the same loot table, but a much higher quantity of it. Giving better fish increases the chance of rare finds, such as seasonal noss drops(for their respective season), Walrus loot(Only in Winter) and other things. Giving them special fish like the sweetish fish can make them scavenge for more particulad biome, in this case figs and such, and may even bring home a nut, this works for spittle fish too where the merm will get seed shells, barnacles and rarely sea sprouts. Seasonal fish could focus the chance for special seasonal loot if given in their respective season. Using the scavager might need the skill.

 

They may find riff loot if they are enabled.

This is exactly what I would like to see! When I create a full-fledged concept of the Wurth tree, I will add it there)! The only question is, do you think they can only be given spears or any other weapons?

I didn't think too much of the idea, but I'd think all weapons would be neat for a perk. Some add a lot of depth, like Morning Stars and Thulecite clubs!
Maybe not ranged weapons? Staves/Boomerangs? I'm unsure!

It's really brilliant, something seems to be in "Cult of the Lamb" and it's very cool I want to see it in dst

Yes, I think melee weapons are enough)

I absolutely agree!! Some new merm types would be awesome, even better if they would be focused on something that isn't just combat, and fishermerms seem like a good option, considering they already exist. Like, of course they'd probably need to be reworked, but still.

maiden is a young woman (maid is meant to be maiden in this context)

a merm-maid or mermaid is a woman that has the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a fish

Wurt would be better. Winona's would feel to advanced, i like the idea of using the labour of merm's that help support the kingdom you are helping make to automate instead.

Fishermerm's could be reworked to be somewhat like the scavenger idea i said, where they go out to the ocean by themselves with a payment and bring back a few fish. Main reasoning for this is because outside of ponds, ocean fishing for them would not work well in follower form.

A skill that allows you to change a regular merms "job" by putting different hats on them. Straw hat allows them to pick grass/twigs/berry bushes in the range of that merms crafthouse. Gardener hat allows them to water and tend to crops, they cant plant seeds tho (maybe thulecite gardener hat allows them to plant seeds/use fertilizer too). Beekeeper allows them to harvest bee hives etc etc.. 

The potential for fun and to build a proper kingdom with working citizens is there.

I feel wurt shouldn't get any increase in combat ability either by allowing merm guards to equip weapons or buffs to herself. Her stats are amazing with the merm king alive and merm guards are ridiculously powerful as is. 

Buffs to what you can trade to merm king and what you can get would be awesome... (steal abit from hamlet)  everyday the merm king can present 3 different items you can "buy". It changes every day, but you have to trade one or more different types of fish to "buy" the item eg. Merm king displays a blue gem on his mat- you need to trade a heavy icebream to buy it.

I imagined 3 objects lying in front of the player, and when the player wants to take them, he will make a "no" gesture, and will hold the object that will need to be brought to him, and then "rub his fingers", as if showing what he wants to get . It's very difficult in terms of animation, but how would it look alive cool

I agree damage shouldn't go up but I do think she should have a skill that gives merms planar defense so her merms don't become useless in the upcoming planar content.
