Future Talent Trees [Discussion]

Recommended Posts

So, since three characters got talent trees we can safely assume that in the future everyone will have trees of some kind.

What do you think will get added in the future and what character improvements would you guys like to have?

My personal thoughts would be for Wortox and Warly.

Wortox:
Befriend Catcoons and some neutral mobs. Wortox already has a heartwarming quote when examing Catcoons, so I see no issue with him finally learning how to befriend them. Other than that, probably Soul capacity increase (There been too many times when I had too many souls or not enough) and reduced useage on teleport. Making a "Soul Snack" where he turns two souls into one separate item would be an interesting thing too. That way he can hoard additional souls and have emergency food at hand.

Warly:
More unique dishes obviously, perhaps ability to eat certain type of raw food (not all). I'd love to see his timer for dishes to be reduced by 1 day. That way he cant spam dishes for health and etc, but be able to nourish himself with the same food without the need to go down to 5% of Hunger.

I also wonder what new tricks Wanda may get in the future. A "timer" clock that recovers HP via ticking similar to the way fire and freezing damages allowing her to negate those perhaps?

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you guys have in mind.

Honestly I can kinda predict that Walter's skill tree is going to be divided between the Slingshot, Woby, and Scout skills

Perhaps a Pathfinder perk? Shows footprints when investigating suspicious dirt pile

but why?

The same reason Wolfgang got automatic training perk.
Because there are people that would like to simplify things. Plus, in my defence, I have trouble seeing the way footprint is headed due to my sight problems, the paw is too small sometimes to notice where to go, especially during evening on darker terrain.

Willow:

First tab:

Left side:

1:

Starting fires gives immediate sanity boost, starting a spreadable fire gives more, fire that spreads naturally near her(spreading to another tree or something) applies.

2:

Items that Willow light on fire do significantly more damage to monsters and at a greater radius. This includes monsters being lit on fire by a fire staff with less effectiveness.

3:

From your inventory, use 2 twigs to light a fire under your feet. Can do damage, and can be performed in darkness.

Right side:

1, 2, and 3:

Food that willow cooks by fire will have some more, most of, all of its freshness restored.

Final perk:

Any fire that Willow starts, even with fire staff, restores a small amount of HP, and all fire based light Willow holds or creates are slightly brighter.

Middle Tab:

Left Side:

1:

Bernie does not lose durability while being held.

2:

Bernie gives more insulation and sanity when held

3:

Hitting a shadow creature with Bernie will despawn them, costs durability.

Right Side:

1:

BERNIE now hits 2 targets

2:

BERNIE has increased damage resistance against non shadow/lunar monsters.

3:

BERNIE will attack more frequently.

Final Perk:

When held, Bernie will slowly restore durability. BERNIE will slowly heal over time.

Shadow Alignment:

1:

Nightmare fuel applied to BERNIE will heal him by a percentage of hp. Pure horror will fully heal him.

2:

Willow can create a Dreadstone firepit, which is functionally identical to the obsidian firepit from Shipwrecked.

Lunar Alignment:

1:

BERNIE now works when enlightened, and will draw aggro from gestalts.

2:

Giving glass shards to Bernie gives him an AOE thorns effect when damaged. Does not damage Willow.

Wortox could get a perk allowing him to replenish hp penalties of characters healed by his souls, or even overheal them a little (like, 10% above max).
