An Update that only focus on optimize game performance

over the past few years, the game has receive a lot of content update, but it also make the game performance slowly goes down (slowly)

I aware that Klei did make some small performance update here and there during 3-4 update patch? but I would like to see an update that just purely for game performance, no extra, weird feature like scrapbook, Klei could also use that update to finish some unfinished skin set, or just new skin :v

me and my friends, with the same PC, same network, Don't Starve Together is the only game so far that I and my friend has to pray to have a smooth, low ping gameplay

like if every game we played are like that then sure, but so far, we only has this problem with DST

I can't even imagine how bad it can become if we survive pass 2k days, I mean the game already start feel laggy sometime after 1k days

maybe because of the amount of structure with skin because we like base building? but that shoudn't be our fault, right?

think like hound wave should get a rework, like I can understand more day = more hound to test your skill, but like after x amount of days, you won't die because of skill issue, you die because of the game performance a large amount of hounds

and there are so many other stuff 

 

it kinda sad that in DS, we end the game by skill issue or bore of the game, but in DST, we end the game because of lag before able to have the skill issue and burnt out problem

Well, unless you're on Switch, the game does not suffer from "performance" with game elements, instead it suffers from network issues. So it's possible that lag always happen whoever happens to be their 'host admin'. I would recommend you checking your internet for that, and well, If that doesn't solve your problem, all we can do is pray for the best.

if it's 100% network issues then other game I played with friend should also suffer 
this game does has performance issues later on especially with megabase + high survived day counts
I has seen a DST streamer lag so bad just because her base has a lot of skined structure and mini-sign

There are definitely some performance issues not strictly related to network, such as slow transfers between shards or when the host's daily auto save kicks in.

I really wish for singe player performance to be actually playable, why does one is "hosting" two servers (overworld and caves) when player slots are set to 1? I just want my solo megabase! tf Im forced to host worlds when Im playing alone? 

I hope  we will have an option when solo host is jumping between world the "afk" world will be shut down

Don't Starve Alone mod should be incorporated into the base game and also a multiplayer friendly version which all players go into the caves if the host does would be a good addition as well.

Optimizing the ocean canopy biome would be nice too it's very laggy the godrays especially cause a lot of lag.

Any other general optimizations for performance and faster loading times would be sweet too!

Yes, I love DST alone mode when I play solo

but since it's a mod so there are so many unexpected glitches, hope Klei make it official in the future
