Recommended Posts

I agree. the game has some flaws here and there, sure, but my god the fun part of the game are just great!

I have so many memories of just enjoying the game with my brother, and I'm sure a bunch of other people do too( have memories about the game, that is)

thank you for this wholesome post spidermanarda, it is greatly appreciated(especially considering the whole skin fiasco going on right now)

The skins to customize worlds with and the character reworks/newer content that’s been being added since 2019 make it hard to go back and enjoy Single Player Dont Starve..

Which is one of the BIGGEST reasons I keep begging that Klei release paid dlc expansions for Shipwrecked & Hamlet Together, it is just so hard to “enjoy” Solo DS anymore..

Sometimes I DO go back and play it for Nostalgia reasons, to enjoy worlds, Characters and challenges that are DST Pre-Rework- Such as the Cardboard Cutout Ocean that made traveling the map itself full of Hostile Mob Chokepoints, or the Epic Adventures Mode Rogue-Like experience, but it is very VERY saddening to me to enjoy all my amazing skins in DST, and then go back to DS to play with “Default” character designs.

My Wigfrid in DST now looks like a half human Minotaur that’s something that without PC Mods (or official skin support) I just can’t do with Solo DS.

I would love to be able to play SW/Ham with a friend, I enjoy the challenges & atmosphere of those DLCs.. but again- Without PC mods, DLC Support, or a

Dont Starve Remastered Edition (Now with Skin support and 2 player co-op) I will NEVER be able to play SW or Hamlet worlds using my DST skins/characters and play with a friend over Xbox live.

This makes me majorly sad.. because Klei seems hell-bent on NOT adding Shipwrecked and Hamlet support to DST.

But DST isn’t without its flaws- Content is designed around the game being Multiplayer so playing with less than 3 players is always going to feel like an highly Unfair disadvantage, the Ocean of DST feels added on & lacking rather then having the ocean designed first with content designed around it.

DS is more of a true Survival Rogue-Lite with a “Chapter System” and dying meaning starting all the way over back in world One.

where as DST takes more of a significantly less punishing party games with friends type of Sandbox approach.

At times the two games can feel like they directly clash with one another in terms of what the franchise SHOULD be.. but that’s also part of the charm in it too I suppose:

DS/DST is what you make it.

If you want to toggle Autumn Only and Year of the Carrat to spend all your time building huge elaborate Carrat race tracks, nothing is stopping you from doing that.. but if you want to play a 24/7 summer with wildfires cranked to 11 nothing is stopping you from doing that either.

In conclusion: The game is so addictive for not only what it Was/Is- But also what you can MAKE it.

This game has all the potential in the world to compete toe to toe with Minecraft.. and I truly believe that.. but Klei has to believe that too, otherwise I’m just wasting everyone’s time with my posts.

he is very fun! I really like his rework that basically turned him customizable. you can choose the upgrades you want and stuff and I think that's hella neat!

I love the series as a whole, it has come such a long way. Adding Warly to DST was one of the biggest highlights for me! :wilson_love:

Sorry Mike, but they don't care. I bet they read your and mine posts about those "issues" the game have, but they choose not to stand and talk about it. As you can see, this community does not care too. That's sad to hear but, look at what i say...

If the game is not making you happy, just leave it. I know, it was hard at first, but i managed to 'abandon' s DST. I couldn't bother less about devs that choose not to answer a simples question about a issue, even if that issue is not 'solved' (or could possibly be solved). If, one day, they make all these "changes" to DST, i would gladly spend hours playing It, but now i just can't. I migrated to Grounded (very good sandbox survival game) and it makes me happy. That's sadly how it works, if something doesn't make me happy, i just ignore it

So in summary... Yes, you're wasting your time, not everyone's (since they don't care). Sorry.
