how do i upload my own skin?

Hello everyone i made my own version of the spear asset in Don't Starve. Now i would like to put the skin in the game file and use it instead of the default spear skin. Is there a way to do this?

You can write a mod to reskin the spear, though it might violate Klei's modding policy.

Nope it will probably not.

As you don't directly get money from your skins (except for donations) or use game's own skins directly or editen version, you will be free to do whatever you want.

That's for your own item, not a skin.

You can take a look at this and this mods' code, maybe they will help you to figure some things out. Though if you're gonna upload your mod to workshop, I'd recommend you to still ask other modders for help or the Steamed Collection creator for permission to use his code.

It can still be used for creating the skin assets themselves tho!

You can always make an item that's identical to a spear in every way except appearance
