Is it safe to reset journals, emails, and other lore tidbits?

I'm wanting to reset the unlocked lore entries on a fresh playthrough.  From what little is available on the subject, deleting the unlocks.json file will accomplish this.  However, the information on doing so predates the new cosmetic system.  Is it still safe to delete this file, or will doing so make a mess of things?  Thanks.

Well maybe you can just not delete it but move it somewhere and see what happenes.

i highly doubt the data relevant to your owned cosmetics would be stored locally on your machine, so I think its probably safe to delete that file

I doubt so too, but this is one of those things I'd rather be safe than sorry on.

Well, I just unplugged my internet and have full access to the Supply Closet. Guess it's stored on my PC after all.

the data on relevant cosmetics is stored in a local file that gets updated every 5 minutes from the klei server. This is a separate file from the lore unlocks
