Wonz
Won't they lag the server after several days if not removed?

Be2014
I agree with you the random boulders are destroying the game. 2x I have joined the server and the boulders instantly fall destroying the base. Yes, rollback plz. Is this a bug? Has it happened to anyone?
Spino43
The problem with big boulders is, they pretty much can only be removed by the players. Normal earthquake has a lot of minerals self destroying themselves, and moleworms help clearing them, even if they are annoying. I do think a super earthquake would be nice, but like, just happen rarely, and give warnings like: "I can feel a large tremor" or sth.
chirsg
Succinct underrated post. Bump. These boulder rains are terrible and honestly, not particularly challenging. It's actually just a troll mechanic. I personally don't die unless I strive to anymore and I could survive in spite of my entire base being burnt to a cinder, but falling rocks have absolutely nothing to do with survival. Same as brightshades.
Jakepeng99
I have no idea why klei thought adding base destroying bouldere was a good idea. 1 minute ago, chirsg said: Succinct underrated post. Bump. You could put a dollar value to 1000000000000000000:1 odds against you and apply yourself to kill a brightshade triple closely stacked, and come out with a hefty profit with minimal risk of death, but having to prove yourself every single time simply because you think it looks nice to put a berry bush by a pig house? Come on. That's not a well designed mechanic.

That's not a well designed mechanic. this is a mostly singleplayer survival sandbox, you have to overcome threats and there's nothing to ""prove""
goatt
I value my DST base more than DST life. Earthquake boulders hit my base and I will close DST and call it a day.

I agree, even though I don’t megabase. It’s WAY more of a pain to rebuild a base than to revive.

They are not going to go after some random berry bush you made next to a pig house, and you can prepare as you will know where they will spawn. Also i don't know what these comparisons are. Which is worse you can ignore the rare stray but you are forced to deal with the ones that invade your crops for the fifth time in a row your correction only proves their point even more

SuperDonuts
Maybe (I hope), as part of the update, klei will add a mechanism to protect an area from boulder fall. Similar to lightning rod on the surface. Something magic with dread stone.
Be2014
I hate this update. For the 3rd time the boulders have destroyed the kitchen area. Some may think what is the big deal just replace the ice boxes and crock pot. It is the placement. The Mushlight blocks the crock pot so the Mushlight also needs to be removed. Pain the ---.
