Why the ocean doesnt wet creatures?

Recommended Posts

So the other day i was playing as wilson and i tried to kill crab king solo without bees or any companion for the first time, i tried my best using only  a hambat, some weather pains and some ice staff but then i discovered this boss without minions or extra damage is so much wtf. So i just stop playing and started to think what to do now, and after a while i came with an idea, what if i use my fav weapon to do the job? what can go wrong?

So i started the fight using my morning star(i use a mod to see the health of mobs and how much damge they take) and then BOOM. Only 42 damege per hit... WHAT! but he is the crab king and is in the ocean why isnt he taking extra damage from my electric weapon?

So now im here on this forums asking klei or the people what is this? why crab king is not wet? i mean he is in the ocean lmao.

I have to say that after not being able to make much damage with my morning star, i just tested with other wild sea life and guess what, other mobs like gnarwail arent wet eaither! lol?!?!?! excuse me? he is the midle of the ocean. :L

So again im asking why? why are some ocean cratures not wet? can someone please help me?

im doing this topic cause i really wanna know if this is a bug or is intended. Please klei just tell me is a bug cause after this i cant take this game seriously anymore. And please dont repply trying to explain me how its better to use wolfgang or wanda or whatever to that fight, i just wanna know why the ocean creatures arent wet, like come on klei made the game have sense. Please people just tell me its a bug or maybe my mods arent showing the real damage or somthing that can be usseful.

Unfortunately, its intentional. I recall it explicitly being programmed this way.

Such a strange decision, the game balance will not be broken if I can use a slightly better dark sword on the ocean. I would love to actually have variance in my weapon options.

Probably has to due with balance reasons, silly as it is. Marble Suits float in water, which feels rather silly, but on the other hand it would be a bit too punishing if they sank.

Spoiler

Let's just assume it's because they have an exceptionally water-repellent skin due to the power of the Moon.
