Some Nightmare creature's that can use Shadow Alignment

Recommended Posts

I noticed the changes to the nightmare clockworks which added shadow alignment to them in the recent hotfix, i tested a few creatures which did not have this mechanic:

*The ancient Guardian.

*Beardlords and Beardlings.

*The twins of terror.

*Splumonkeys.

It would be cool to have these, as this mechanic needs some extra targets for it, the ancient guardian and twins of terror being some useful and impactful targets, it would allow the new lunar set to be great at dealing with them, and combined with the splumonkey change, makes these equipments great at the ruins which would be fun. Also allows some consistency.

At the moment, giving planar resist abilities to the boss is a horrible idea; it's basically doubling the boss's health.

I think the OP confused planar damage and extra damage that brightshade gear deals to shadow enemies.

why yes, let's punish players for not using the specific end-game gear to fight these pre-cc enemies

This seems a bit misleading. They don't actually have the planar mechanics like the new mobs do, they were just made Shadow Aligned and thus take the extra damage from the Plant Sword and from Wilson. (With shadow perk.)
(Same effects of the shadow vs lunar perks applied, I.E Wilson taking less damage as Wilson and when wearing the plant armor.)

Currently nothing uses Planar on the shadow side, aside from the dev testing dummy.

I think that's what they meant like make those mobs shadow aligned too or something

Ah, if that's the suggestion that'd make far more sense. Though that isn't related to Planar, which is its own thing!

Maybe the rabbits can not be done because of how they function client side

It could work if it affects rabbits and bunnymen that were transformed by using Maxwell's Shadow Sneak.

Looks like they added the ancient guardian, and the were pig which is nice, but not eyes of terror, splumonkey and rabbits. I kind of wanted to repost this because i called it planary damage at first which caused alot of backlash, though no idea if the developers saw the updated version or if it is justified or nice. :()

"during fight" probably means second phase when he's leaking tentacles

Is Charlie considered shadow aligned? I unfortunetly can't check this with Wilson but I think dreadstone armor works on alignment and if thats the case then Charlie is not considered shadow aligned. Not that it would be usefull but more of a flavor thing, and fitting I guess.

Yeah i mentioned splumonkeys. If they were to add shadow alignment to these mobs they would have done it by now. It is weird and inconsistent.

Twins of Terror are not aligned with the Shadows.

They drop nightmare fuel, and are shadow clockworks. They should be. Their shield is classified as a nightmare weapon too as it also drops fuel.
