[Game Update] - Public Testing 535211

Hi Friends,

Today’s hotfix to the public testing branch contains fixes for rooms, the new story trait, the skins system, and more.

The countdown timer on the main menu now indicates one week until the update’s full release. 

We really appreciate all the comments, feedback, and bug reports during this public testing period so far. Please keep them coming! 

Changes and Improvements

  • All versions
    • Geyser can no longer be targeted by more than 5 Geotuners.
    • Increased Geotuner building time and mass.
    • Revised Drywall place and UI artwork.
    • Updated Mission Control Station eligible rocket status item tooltip.
    • Updated translations for all supported languages.
    • Selecting a Duplicant knocking on the Mysterious Hermit’s door will begin the story trait animation sequence.
    • Revised Mysterious Hermit related art and animations.
    • Revised Mysterious Hermit start and complete popups.
  • Spaced Out! only
    • Mission Control can now boost rockets up to 2 hexes away from its own location.

Fixes

  • All versions
    • Fixed memory leaks when unloading and loading a new save. 
    • Fixed crash to desktop when building a Conduction Panel in a place where it would immediately melt.
    • Fixed startup crash that happens when switching languages after assigning an outfit to a Duplicant in the Supply Closet. For some players this fix may also clear existing outfit assignments, but should not affect outfits in save games.
    • Fixed crash when loading into a save while using a different language than the language it was saved in.
    • Duplicant Icons in Supply Closet should now properly display when playing in a language other than English.
    • Fixed issue with leg-hip connection with Duplicants in the Wardrobe screen.
    • Fixed missing string on the Pajama Dispenser side screen.
    • Fixed Duplicants wearing the default belt in the UI while wearing a Primo Garb or an Atmo Suit.
    • Headers in Supply Closet screens should now display text when in non-English languages.
    • Rooms
      • Fixed Private Bedroom allowing more than one Comfy Bed.
      • Fixed Private Bedroom checking for any bed type instead of a single Comfy Beds.
      • Fixed Private Bedroom tooltip mentioning beds instead of Comfy Beds.
      • Fixed Cots not working correctly in Private Bedrooms by adding a No Cots requirement.
      • Fixed conflicting rooms for large (120 cells) Great Halls and Nature Reserves
      • Fixed Room categories not using translated strings in the Database.
    • Mysterious Hermit
      • Idle animations now properly reflect progress.
      • Notifications no longer get stuck after completing the story trait.
      • Blinds will now always reflect the proper story trait progress.
      • Lights no longer display an improper state when building is made operational
      • Mailbox remains intractable after completing Welcome Dinner.
      • Idle animations no longer play when the building is non operational.
      • Fixed food layering and stand-in artwork not hiding properly.
      • Fixed Jorge’s missing eyes when playing the duplicate food animation.
      • Storage animations now play properly.
      • Lights now highlight with the rest of the building.
      • Adjusted clearable story trait notification alignment.
      • Jorge's outfit is now higher resolution in the Wardrobe screen.

Limiting number of simultaneous geotuners to just 5 looks both safety measure for players, as there is almost no space to new fails, trials and successes(what was the most interesting part). To not crash the game limit can be an order of magnitude more providing all the possibility to mess your build, asking permission first.

There is already some chanllenge obtaining some resources at required rate, which will provide some challenge to players(especially ranching pufts for fans of improvised steam power) so why would you further discourage players from trying it?

From the entire changelog, I appreciate this line the most! Thanks for the info, it's good to have clear information about the timeline :)

The panel is still totally broken.

One 50% uptime pwater aquatuner amplified by panels interacting with a dormant turbine produces enough heat to power 10+ turbines. This should require ~16 aquatuners. There may be other shenanigans besides the panel going on here, but the panel is definitely fubar.
