Will Maps Ever Get Larger

I set mine to the largest size, takes only 8-9 days to outline with Wolfgang.   Part of the feature I like about a new game is discovering territories.

When I first played dst I had a pc with 4gb ram, several years ago I upgraded to a faster one with 32 and a much more powerful gpu.

Some new biomes would also be nice...

Have you tried not mapping out your world within 8-9 days then?

Even if the world was larger youd still reach the edges quickly if you're truly set on it. This is more an issue with your style of play and less with the world.

I would also like to see some bigger maps, but the thing is, it is only worth it if they have content. Right now, a large part of the map is just transposable, empty land. I would rather have, like you said, new biomes, that are worth exploring, than more empty spaces.

In addition to new biomes, updating old already existing ones with new content would be nice.. 

The entire reason I even bought Dont Starve was because it promised me I would get to explore randomly generated worlds full of things that hate me and want me to die. It’s literally right there in the product description- but as anyone who has played the game long enough can tell you: Worlds aren’t truly randomized.. at least not to the extent I’d like to see them.

Biomes are always filled with the same resources, and mobs.

Speaking of Mobs- Klei even for some ungodly known reason to me started phasing out the “Hates me and wants me to die” part of their product description by making most mobs PASSIVE until YOU attack them.

Even Pirate Raids are now something YOU Summon with a Flare rather then them just invading you after awhile at sea.

To say “I’m disappointed” would probably be the most polite way of expressing my feelings.. but anyway.. I hope they rework old biomes with new content, I hope they rework World Generation options..

And if they’re being held back by limitations of OLD Hardware, I hope there’s a DS 2 in the works… I bought an Xbox Series S particularly to play newer more advanced games then my Xbox One was capable of… and it just feels like there should ALREADY be an X/S version of DST with bigger worlds..

I would personally like to see more going on in the world around me: for example in the animated shorts you can see how Klei portrays their world really well, spiders fight over nests, birds land in tree branches, pogs leap out of bushes playfully chasing each other-

In actual gameplay however: it’s nothing like this, and I strongly feel like a Series X/S and PS5 version of the game (if one ever ends up being made…) should defiantly be capable of those attentions to detail…

It might not sound like much from this post- but filling in empty landmasses of biomes with more detail/more that goes on would be at the top of my wishlist.

once biomes are less empty/boring THEN we can discuss getting them in bigger sizes.

Otherwise: The larger an empty biome becomes… the more apparent it’s lack in content will start to stand out.

a tropical continent with sw and ham biomes merged together somewhere far away you have to sail too is my dream

but even without that dst map is too small, not enough biomes, biomes are empty and lifeless, so much is in need of fixing

Op is asking for more exploration in the world. This would just slow it down. There’s a difference.
