Base Game runs fine on Laptop. Will Spaced Out?

AMD Ryzen 3 5300U with Radeon Graphics 2.60 GHz with 8 GB RAM.

I have not tested the FPS, (I don't know how to do that) but current colony runs smooth with 11-12 duplicants on cycle 1400. (This is a new laptop, old laptop had worse performance.) Only time there is noticeable lag is when the game auto-saves, which I have set to once every 5 cycles. As Spaced Out might go on sale in Klei Fest, I am wondering how much more taxing is Spaced Out compared to the base game?

I don't know how taxing it would be. Since spaced out worlds are smaller and separated from each other, it should theoretically be less taxing from pathfinding. That being said, I never had any issue in either case, nor have I survived that long, for that matter. Additionally, you might need more than 11-12 dupes because of multiple colonies, and that might affect things.

If your colony runs smoothly today on current game version, the DLC should not change much. Currently both vanilla and DLC use the same code, so both are optimized in the same way. In fact smaller worlds in the DLC might make it even better than in vanilla. Also, you can expect Content Pack around next week and that should make things run even better

It should run fine too. The xxxxU Ryzens are pretty good. Lag on save you even get on high-performance desktops. For larger numbers of dupes and lots of complex machinery, you probably will get performance problems a bit earlier than on a modern desktop, but that should be it.
