Seriously though, those bramble husk changes are literally gamechangers for wormwoods ability to defend himself against hoards. Did i hear correctly that its 525 durability and 80% protection? I havent been this excited for an update since he learned to bloom himself

Hard disagree, its cheap and often kills hounds with less traps than traditional ones

Guess i'm using them wrong cause i am having hard times killing hounds with them.

Clustered regular traps seem way more effective. The Bramble traps seem to be very delayed and not always trigger on time when hound passes by which wastes their charges yet hound passes by undamaged.

Clustering these traps makes this problem even worse.

 

How to use these effectively then?

Tbh I DONT use them when playing as Wormwood, because when playing alone.. I can just set up a field of Lureplants (wormwoods immune to them) and let those replace making traps. 

I can also place the Lureplants+traps to kill whatever I want dead faster.

You have to group mobs together tightly before you run them into bramble traps. that is the key.

Run around in a circle until all the hounds have spawned and when theyre in a tight cluster run into the traps but pause ever so slightly when u reach the first line of traps so the hounds will try to bite you right on top of the traps. 

Dont place the traps super close to each other. Place them with a trap’s worth of space between each one.

Done this way, a small patch of 3x4 or even 3x3 bramble traps could take care of the biggest late game hound waves before Varglet nerfed the waves.

With the addition of the Varglet, hounds have become much less numerous so the bramble’s aoe shines less..

best use is against shadow monkeys.

Bramble traps could definitely use a tweak, because their delay cause them to sometimes miss. At the very least they should increase the radius or make them instant trigger.

Though I'd personally like if they could self-reset after some time and hit flying enemies.

Bramble traps are good for mass farming splumonkeys in the ruins:

 

- Set some 5x3  or 5x/2 grid with Bramble Traps

- Wait for the monkeys transform into shadow splumonkeys

- Make as many shadow splumonkeys aggro you as you can (I suggest u have a magi amulet, a cane and full bloomed.

- Run around in circle to gather them really close, then lure them to the bramble traps.

- Get the tons of nightmare fuel, rot, manure, bananas and morsels.

You can do it 10 times before replacing the traps, which gives you TONS of loots!

 

To me, this is the best use for BT. I would also like to test if wormwood can tank the splumonkeys instead with the improved bramble vest though

Hahaha no he cant, ive tried with crown and enough suits to last until i died, and die i did, stunlocked to death

I hope they dont. These perks are what i like about wormwood. I like wormwood for his interesting downsides and stylish fashion. Bramble husk was completely unusable in its prior state. Now its a contender for strongest body armor. Its enough. I am happy.
