Mike23Ua Posted April 11, 2022 Share Posted April 11, 2022 I just want one tiny little change done for Console players- LT moves you to your pinned (closed version of the crafting tab) LT while on this Tab opens the full crafting Menu, LT While in the full crafting menu moves you to your pinned tab (the area you need to highlight to change skins of pinned tab tools) And B exits the menu putting you back into gameplay. The reason WHY I want this is because the new version screws with nearly 10 years of my brains memorization, you use to press LT to open the craft tab, so I find myself often pressing LT which then opens up that large ugly screen blocking full UI.. when all I wanted to do was quickly access the closed version. Pressing Left/Up on the Analog stick is equally inconvenient for me, because over pressing my backpack inventory puts me on this tab- sure if I realize I’ve moved from my inventory to the Pinned favorite tab I can just bump the analog stick back down to backpack inventory again: but in a game like DST- Every Second counts… just ask Wanda. And if it takes me longer to fiddle through the Closed/Opened UI to get back to the Torch in my Backpack slot and equip it before Charlie kills me: That’s 1 second too late. When Craft Menu is Open, Left Joystick is disabled. Left Joystick controls the cursor in every other Menu in the game as far as I can tell. Make Left Joysticks great again. 2. Left/Right Direction Pad Buttons change Skins when cursor is on Pinned Items while the Crafting Menu is Open, however Left/Right Direction Pad Buttons change Pinned Tab # when cursor is on Pinned Items while the Crafting Menu is Closed. Consistency would be nice, maybe the Up Direction Pad Button can cycle through Skins when cursor is on Pinned Items regardless of if Crafting Menu is Open or Closed, and Left/Right Direction Pad Buttons can change Pinned Tab # when cursor is on Pinned Items regardless of if Crafting Menu is Open or Closed. I pretty easily prefer the previous category tabs, but being able to pin and favorite recipes for quick access, and being able to craft components through recipes that require them is nice. As it stands though, finding and crafting items is generally more time consuming and tedious with this update. An improvement might be to have all crafting stations be able to open a window that shows only items that can be learned from that crafting station, possibly with some category sorting to make things cleaner and easier to navigate. An alternate change could be to add subcategory tabs within the previous categories, for example, the Combat tab could split into several rows for weapons, armor and/or headgear, and items/devices like tooth traps and bee mines. It's a change, and even changes for the better sometimes take some getting use to, but what really bugs me about the latest update is the change to turf crafting. Common turfs crafting 4x the items while costing the same or even less materials strikes me as unbalanced, making the gameplay loop less enjoyable, and yielding 4 instead of 6 scaled turf out of scales is a clear detriment. Swapping boards for cut stones in the cobblestone recipe made sense, but I feel removing the need for rocky turf, and especially multiplying the yield without increasing the cost cheapened the item, though perhaps one of the biggest newly broken turf recipes is for shell beach turf. Broken shells are fairly common, and this recipe provided (or did provide) a good way to make use of them. With being able to get them from hunting slurtles/snurtles, sea chests, or smashing shell bells, accumulating them was already plenty easy. Now it again feels like a nuisance to have to deal with broken shells, and adding rocks to the recipe does it no favors with all the other things they're used for. Martinarse Posted June 14, 2022 Share Posted June 14, 2022 Console user here. It's terrible. I spend most of the in game day scrolling thru menu items trying to find basic crafts. Used to take me 2 to 3 secs to find and craft now I'm 2 to 3 minutes.
