After a few hours (yes!) of testing, it appears that the storage bin issue is related to the exact locations of the items, and might even care about the order in which the pickupables were spawned.

Hello!

First, thanks a lot for the mod, it does a lot of things I love, and while it does these things, I found an annoyance to say the least.

So, let me explain it. I have a storage bin with Igneous rock for my hatches, in my base which is in the middle of the map. When I'm building something made of Igneous rock in the Oil Biome (bottom of the map), which contains a lot of Igneous rock so there's plenty for my dupes to pick up and build, they just decide to go to my base and get the Igneous rock from the bin which is storing for hatches. This is quite the annoyance cuz it basically delays all construction errands by A LOT, cuz now instead of picking up materials laying around (which there's tons at time), they just decide is better to go half accross the asteroid and get it from storage bins.

This happens with any single material btw, not limited to Igneous rock. If I have a storage bin with Copper ore, they'll always deplete than bin BEFORE they start picking up stuff on the floor to build something.

Now, I notice in the mod options there's these options, but I tried every single one of them and none seems to resolve this issue. I don't know if there's a combination of options, or something among the options that would "fix" this (for me personally at least, this is quite bad, since as I explained before, will sometime triple the time it takes to build something just cuz they have to go around the asteroid to pick up stuff from bins instead of using materials from the floor), but I hope this gets some attention, cuz I really wanna use the mod, but as of now is wasting just too much time.

Thanks!

Version 0.15.10.0 has been released with minor improvements to rare issues like this one.

Guys Peter is a magician, but i dont think he can make this mod, which changes so much of the game, compatible with every mod on the market. And, even if its hard to acknowledge, if its your own favorite mod; There are MANY very poor made mods out there. Some of them are just quick hacks, done by people, who wont understand, what they are doing. Its tragic, but thats reality. No one will ever compensate for others failure in coding.

I´m sure Peter will take a look at it, if he finds the time, but dont keep your hopes up, he could even start to fix everything, others messed up.

This results in a hard choice. Using that one mod, not compatible with Fast Track, OR using Fast Track and enjoy much more performance. But its your choice.

Does somebody is also getting the error "Incompatible DLC Configuration"? I've tried with Spaced Out! on and off, as well as the other 2 dlcs on and off.
And I'm trying to play only using this mod.

I'm using Fast Track Beta - 0.15.10.0 from Apr 24

You probably did not extract it properly
Its most likely 1 folder too deep, something like "local/fasttrack/fasttrack/modfiles" instead of the required "local/fasttrack/modfiles"

This was the problem. It is working now, thanks a lot :D

更新史前行星包后,无法使用快速通道,一进游戏就会报错

It takes a while after any major update, to patch the mod. So either play without the DLC but with Fasttrack, or without the mod but with DLC. There is no other way.

在任何重大更新之后,都需要一段时间来修补 Mod。因此,要么在没有 DLC 但使用 Fasttrack 的情况下玩,要么没有 Mod 但有 DLC。没有其他办法。

还行

hey! love the mod, it's pretty much the only way my steamdeck can handle Spaced Out.

Unfortunately, It seems to be crashing after the prehistoric update on launch, even though I don't have the DLC. it shows as 0.15.8. in the mod menu even after a reinstall, and throws an error instead of being able to toggle specifics.

if anyone knows anything, it would be greatly appreciated!

It doesn't matter if the DLC is installed or not because also the base game was updated and probably modified significantly. That's why it doesn't work. You'd have to rollback your game in order to use the mod.

Please give Peter some time. I'm pretty sure they are aware.

Thanks for the update! ❤️

I noticed this with the current version 0.16.0.0:

image.png.0ee5f1504ff75e3cc48b1f0977a7b37c.png

It's reproducible with all other mods disabled, only Fast Track enabled.
It's fine without Fast Track.
It was fine with 0.15.10.0.

And btw, can I buy you a coffee or beer by reasonable means?

There is a donation link tucked into Peter Han’s post on page 20 of this thread.

I also have the same problem. After trying, I found that the problem disappeared after turning off the "Visual-Qiuck format" option. You can give it a try.

Can ONI already use CPUs with multiple cores and AMD's 3D Vcache well? I plan to build a computer with a 9950x3d and I wanted to know if it is necessary to use mods like fast track or if ONI itself will be able to use the computer's resources to run the simulation well.

It can, but with the 9950x3d you have EITHER the benefits 3d cache on 8 cores OR 16 Cores, not both.

If you dont plan to use 16 cores for heavy workload not gaming related, this would not be the cpu for you.

You can run ONI much smoother on high-performance CPUs, but fast track will still boost this to another level in late game.

When I finish building the PC, I'll come back with the specifications I've chosen and test the fast track to see how it would improve.

I'll also try to test it on my current system which is weaker and I have late game colonies that run at 10fps, the thing is that I play with mods and I imagine that there are still many incompatibilities, but I'll test it anyway and bring the results.

I'd just like to know which of the 2 options ONI would take advantage of more, the 3D cache or the 16 cores? I plan on using it for heavy workloads, but I imagine that the 8 cores of the 9800X3D would be enough until the launch of a 12950X3D Zen6 with 16 cores/CCD.

Multi core performance wont help you in oni

x3d cache on the other hand helps GREATLY

combining it with fast track yields the best results; I have a 2.5k cycles colony that runs at ~50fps at x3 speed on a 5800x3d

Thanks for the tips and information, I'll definitely be taking them into consideration for my next build.

Extract the mod properly; you have it one folder too deep

It should be

mods/Local/FastTrack/{files}

But you most likely have

mods/Local/FastTrack/FastTrack/{files}
