[Suggestion] Pocket scale should weigh giant plants too

Didn't plan on bringing it up untill the next QoL but thought I could try to bring attention to it now since this QoL have been touching upons such a variety of things, from seed-pack-it to how Against The Grain content works. As such here's my suggestion to make pocket scale be muuch more useful:

☆ Allow it to weight giant plants too

Currently it only weighs fishes and it does what it needs to do fine but that's a very niche, underwhelming purpose and the gameplay impact of it can easily be bypassed by trying all caught fish on pearl, using heavy weighed lure and trying different fish on scale-o-matic.

Giant Crop weighing on the other hand is such a pain. You can't know their weighs before trying them on a poduce scale and even as mighty wolfgang, courageous walter or a proud owner of a beefalo it's a very tedious task. Most of the time people will just put any giant crop of their liking and be done with it for the aestetic look, without caring about the weigh aspect.

As such, pocket scale would be perfect for this. It was made for this- its name isn't just fish scale, it can easily weigh heavy objects like a luggage scale. It'd give us the weight of individual giant crops easily and help us decide if any new ones is worthy to be changed with the one on the scale. The page on the plant registry would still update only if the crop is placed on a produce scale.

The biggest challenge I see would be the need to add a slightly new animation as it wouldnt be appropriate to lift the crops as high as the fish, it'd be a tiny, barely noticeable lifting from the ground. Perhaps the giant crop weighing could also cause more wear on the pocket scsle, costing 2% use instead of 1%.

There goes my suggestion to improve pocket scale in the miniseries of how to improve weakest item in each crafting tab. Thx for your attention. Already 1/12 way there with the October QoL improvements on Pick/Axe:

I think it would be funny if everyone strained and struggled to weigh the plants with the scale but mighty Wolfgang does it with ease and has an expression like he knows how hard that is for everyone else. Imagining him uniquely using only one hand while he's grinning at the other survivors.

@reallychina why would i use a mod if the game give me a tool that i enjoy using? plus i dont use mods to get info, i like the vanilla experience

Spring and autumn are 20 days long, summer and winter are 15 days long. 70 days in total.

It takes some time to memorize temperatures on specific days of the year + a lot of people use mods or rarely play long term.

Just use a mod lol. Thermal measurer would make sense and would be immersive if seasons were not fixed dates. Since you can tell do maths to find out, measurer is pointless.

Well I don't think it's completely useless but at the time I picked it as the least useful object of the science tab and I still stand by it.

Even without combined status, you can mostly tell which part of the season it is from stuff like melting snow, stopping of wildfires, hatched moose eggs, melt state of glaciers, dead pengulls etc. And regardless, the ambient heat is mostly inconsequential. It'd be more useful if certain visitable spots or mobs responded to the ambient heat like say yaaaaroctopus spawning when the measurer is 75% or more full.

If you take its cousin rainometer for instance, it can give info that'll actually be helpful to you gameplay wise like if it's about to rain or snow so that you can decide to go to Pearl or not to do her weather quests. Similarly moondial gives very noticeable and vital information regarding the full or new moon, consequences of which are quite numerous. 

As such, I dont think thermal measurer or any object in my table is useless but they can benefit a lot from some special treatment. For thermal measurer, it'd be more events within the seasons that are tied to the ambient temperature rather than the season. And as for this thread, it'd be measuring giant crops for the pocket scale.

I’ve received a plea for the use of my divine power. A cry heard from several dimensions away, existing somewhere between the stars and I.
