The moon rock that contains the orb won't show up on your map. Usually a world has more than one meteor field

I scanned the entire biome after 190 days, I just posted the screenshot to prove that I'm not missing a rockyland biome on my map.

I was curious if the wiki is wrong about meteor showers spawning a suspicious boulder past day 60, so I stood in the biome until there was a meteor shower and it didn't spawn. I even used the count prefabs command and it returned 0, so I guess the wiki is wrong unless I'm missing some crucial detail.

The Wiki is definitely wrong. I saw people on Reddit mentioning that the drop rate has to do with the total amount of meteor showers you have received, but I have no proof to support this either.

If you don't want to use commands, just set the meteor frequency to the highest amount.

I just wanted to confirm that I'm not crazy and my world is indeed missing it, bc I'm content with using the celestial altar to change characters for now and from what I've now learned I'm pretty sure it will be here by the time I'm prepped to fight CC, so I can happily continue my world without changing the settings. Thanks though.

idk if I'd say the wiki is wrong because the code does specifically have a backup check to spawn the orb if it's day 60 or more, but maybe I'm not interpreting the code correctly so this might be in addition to the check that counts rock_moon spawns (yes apparently it checks for how many moonrock boulders have landed to increase the chance lol it's kind of a dumb and convoluted mechanic)

If this is the case, everything makes so much more sense now:D I assumed the Wiki was wrong because I've had multiple worlds where the orb didn't spawn after day 60 even though I was in the mosaic during the next meteor showers.

But does the 60 day check guaruntee that a meteor is big enough to leave a boulder, let alone end up as a moon rock boulder or does it simply guaruntee a moon rock boulder to be smooth? If the latter, the wiki is still wrong to say the meteor shower itself is guarunteed to drop one past day 60.

It just gurantees a moon rock boulder to be smooth.

Iirc, there's a 15% chance for a large meteor to be harbor a moon rock boulder. Sooo still up to RNG at the end of the day. Well, not the worst case of RNG I've ever seen I suppose. I've had friends who had to hook onto deep bass fish from a shoal over 200 times to spawn Malbatross(and that's a 10% chance).

Or the alleged 10% chance of getting a krampus sack.  I've only received it twice in my entire time gaming DST and I've defeated him hundreds of times lol

I've gotten two krampus sacks from Klaus and one of his krampii, and another instances 3 krampus sacks in 3 consecutive Klaus kills.

Luck is a funny thing.
